What would you drive out of these 3 choices

And didn't the Marina itself have a lot in common with the Minor which came out in, er, the '40s?

What would you drive out of these 3 choices

Cavalier - it's the most modern of the three.

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Yes, you're right about the gold wheels I think. It also had air-con as standard, still fairly unusual at the time even in cars as prestigious as this. From memory, most V8-Ss were a rather lurid metallic green colour too.

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

No worries - I must admit that successive generations of most Mercs are becoming harder to distinguish from the older model, e.g. W222 S-class compared to the current one. On which note, I spotted this in Agadir the other day - a V12 Maybach (badged S680 I think):

I beg to differ!:) The front end and door handles are definitely 213, as is the dashboard if you flick through their brochure. Also, rear lights, chrome strip, reflectors and exhaust tips are all 213 (facelift). 'Creases' are different too. Hearse: 213 (fl): 214:

    That's a 213 though I think.

Lovely. I had a Vitesse in that colour a very long time ago.

Car that people don't really want to sell!!.....or at least that's how it seems.

The seller is clearly delusional. Yes, it passed an MOT last month, but there is a long list of advisories, most of which include the word 'corrosion'!

    Odd Calendars

Hey! I object to that - it's my local services and it's spelt 'Bridgwater'!! But yes, it's horrible.

    Odd Calendars

I live near Glastonbury, famous for its much-visited Tor, of which many fine photos are taken. By contrast, a local wag has taken to producing an annual calendar entitled 'Crap views of Glastonbury Tor', an example of which is below.

That looks like 6803.0 to me, so might be the 'trip' reading?

    RIP A IRISH POET

I promise you I wasn't being belligerent - I just thought it was an odd thing to say. However, we can at least agree that it is one of the better xmas records!

    RIP A IRISH POET

Your point being? Re the record, yes it will get played incessantly again this xmas but I would argue that it's better than most (all highly subjective of course).

FAKE AMG Badges on Non-AMG Cars

I think it looks great too - pleasant change from the usual silver or grey, although I'm not keen on the tints or the black wheels.

FAKE AMG Badges on Non-AMG Cars

In a sort of antidote to all this, I'm sure I remember reading many years ago about some MD-type person who took delivery of a new top of the range 450SEL 6.9 (W116) but rebadged it as a humble 280SE so his employees would not think he was being too profligate.

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Spotted in a car park in Glastonbury: Looked in good nick, and is still being 'used' - the boot was full of boxes of stuff. My Dad had a couple of these a very long time ago. We always thought of it as a 'big' car at the time but by modern standards it's positively dainty.

Cheap 500sl with high mileage worth it?

When you say ‘the car looks really good’, have you seen it in person? The pics in the advert show that the seats look fine, but there’s very little else to commend it – no dashboard shots, no pics of the engine compartment or underneath, no close-ups of the wheels/tyres, and only four probably...
