Sunroof lubrication - what to use?

Keep an eye on eBay, sometimes there are sellers who'll sell small quantities. I bought a plastic 35mm film pot full a few years ago for a couple of quid. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Bluetooth Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Looks like both internal & external use Bluetooth. Do you mean that the externally mounted sensors have replaceable batteries? No way to open up your current ones to get to their batteries? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Retrofittable Adaptive Brake Light System

Sounds good and am interested, but it'd be really good to see a video of it in action before laying down the cash.

    s124 tailgate soft close

Soft close wasn't working on my '90 S124. I traced the problem to a broken wire. Ran a new one from the terminal block on the left hand rear side of the roof. If you remove the rearmost headlining cover, you'll see the screw terminal block and the wires running into the corrugated rubber tube...

    Multivalve Diesel S124 Starting Issue

Sadly marking this as unsolved as this has come back to haunt me. The first time was early August, on a ferry from Denmark to Germany. Was one of the first cars on, so was parked right at the front of the boat with the nose slightly up the off-ramp. Only an hour or so crossing. I think it fired...

    124 Speed Sensor Problems?

I found the problem and the cruise is now working fantastically- the lower connector is required to power the sensor (I had assumed it was some sort of spinning magnet/coil system that was creating its own power). The two pins are marked with a sideways T (-) and +: The upper, larger...

    124 Speed Sensor Problems?

No continuity between either of the pins on the 2nd connector and the large connector, or to ground. I've read somewhere about this being for a 12V feed. Could that be the problem, that the sensor needs 12V to operate but because the car originally had no need for the speed sensor, no power...

    124 Speed Sensor Problems?

I forgot to mention that I've got an imminent 2,000 mile round trip, so would really appreciate any help with getting this working! Have taken the sensor out, glad it was an easy job & it's a small relatively inexpensive looking device. Is this likely to be stocked by MB? As well as the single...

    124 Speed Sensor Problems?

Hello I've just fitted aftermarket cruise (will post more info on this when time allows). All is working well, but it's not picking up a signal from the speed sensor. When I bought the car it had a factory speed sensor on the back of the speedo but nothing was connected to it. I fitted a...

    Multivalve Diesel S124 Starting Issue

An update on this- it's now been 6 months and no further starting issues. Replacing those clear pipes was definitely the solution. Regarding the knocking while shifting that I mention at the end of the past post- the mechanic had left off a vacuum line. The engine mounts were shot though, so...

    S124- front windows blowing fuse

Oh yes, thanks to Lxb3 for the suggestion too- I had greased all the door internals earlier in the year and they seem to be moving well so I was fairly sure that wasn't the problem, but good call- could well have been that.

    S124- front windows blowing fuse

Thanks go to brucemillar - I did keep the old fuses (and people try to tell me that holding on to old crap is stupid)- tried one of those and no issues since. Will be buying another set of fuses, this time I won't mess around and get them straight from MB.

    LED indicator bulbs

I took this while I was changing my back bulbs to compare LED with filament- Frame by frame you can clearly see the LEDs lighting up faster than the filament bulb- particularly good for brake lights.

    LED indicator bulbs

Yeah, was hoping I could pop the orange plastic top off the Osram LEDs and they'd be orange emitting LEDs underneath so I'd lose the egg yolk effect at the front corners, but sadly they're white so you need the orange filter with white indicator lenses. Crazy that they're filtering out a large...

Footbrake and Handbrake Question on my 190E 2.0 Auto

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of MB motoring :) As an ex-190 owner, I agree with what the others have said. One thing on the handbrake- when I had a 190, I often found that it was very ineffective at holding the car on even a gentle incline. I was of the impression that not using...

    [Resolved] Dead Sunroof Relay (124)

A few months ago I went to close my sunroof and nothing happened. During later investigation there was no blown fuse & I could hear clicking in the back by the motor. I closed the roof manually and it closed easily enough so I was fairly sure I could rule out a mechanical fault. I looked around...

    LED indicator bulbs

I've had a fair few issues with cheap LED bulbs from ebay- mainly for use for brake & tail lights. When it came to buying indicator bulbs I went for these Osram ones- Osram LEDriving Yellow Indicator Lamp Bulb 12V 4W LED 2pcs. Blister pack | eBay more pricey, but much more dependable quality. I...

New Febi 124 Wishbones- bush check please

BTW- Mercedes want £256 each, which was just too steep for me at the moment. I've read that the bushes aren't included with them, but the counter guy thought they probably were.
