W221 2008 SWB Normal Ride Height

Hi, yes thanks for the info. I wasn't sure regarding whether the rear sits significantly lower than the front or whether all 4 wheels sit equal ride height. However, as it appears from the figures you have provided, the rear sits ~6mm lower than the front in the facelift W221 - maybe this...

W221 2008 SWB Normal Ride Height

Thanks for your input. That helps a lot albeit your car is a facelift. I will now go and measure the S-Class and let the suspension do its stuff and once it settles down/stops pumping/discharging the air, I will measure - if I get similar results to your figures, I will assume those would be...

W221 2008 SWB Normal Ride Height

Hi All, Looking to change the control arms on my Dad's 2008 S320 CDI SWB (without ABC) and it has original 18" wheels. I need to know what the normal ride height distance is from the bottom of the fender to the centre of the wheel hub/wheel cap. This way regardless of what tyres are on the...

W221 S320 CDI 2008 Yellow Engine Fan Faulty Symbol (picture)

Update (for the record): Got a used engine fan from eBay and connected it to the car and still had the same problem - engine fan light on and engine fan turning on. So this meant it wasn't the fan. The next thing we did was get a used expansion/header tank off eBay as there is a sensor inside...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Mercedes W204 NTG4 Comand - How to put Card Reader Slot Flap/Cover back?

It looks like this could be the only way unfortunately. I have seen videos on youtube on how to remove the unit which is actually easy but haven't been able to find information on how to remove the front plastic trim... Is it glued on or would be attached by some clips? Thanks.

Mercedes W204 NTG4 Comand - How to put Card Reader Slot Flap/Cover back?

Hi All, Hope you are well. I had some issues in my 2008 W204 NTG4 Comand because I put the card reader in the wrong way by accident and it got stuck which meant I had to pry it back out with a screwdriver and during the process the card reader slot flap came out as well. It did not break...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Thanks for the info. I've gone and purchased a A 221 500 04 93 used fan unit and a used expansion tank unit. Will suck out as much coolant from the exp. tank, replace the expansion bottle and fill up with coolant and check if the fault disappears (will leave rear battery disconnected during...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Just thought it would be a good idea to have another look again under the bonnet, and surprisingly I found 'A 221 500 04 93' on the top RHS of the radiator shroud! Now, this is funny because this part no. does not match with EPC (A2215001193) or the updated part number (A2219066500), although I...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

That's perfect, its much more clear now. Thanks, I will do some research and reading to find out what, if anything, can be checked on the pins with a multi meter.

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Thanks for this. Highly appreciated. Yes I just checked on a German parts manufacturer website (Febi Bilstein OEM for M-B and BMW etc.) and they also give 2219066500. I think you are correct in saying that it is a updated part number of the original 2215001193. So this means that there should be...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Diesel Benz - could you please provide the part number for the coolant reservoir in your convenience? Also, would there be any way of testing any of the pins inside the harness that connects to the coolant tank? If so, what should I be looking for and on what pin?

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Thanks for your excellent support as always! Ok, good news about the sensors then - so we can eradicate the screen washer sensor from the equation for the time being. Engine temperature needle travels its way up to 90C as normal, however I have noticed on two occasions now that it sometimes...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

The VIN is WDD2210222A190558 - sorry as I forgot to re-mention it from the last page. I read a thread on another forum about a W221 S350 petrol where someone mentioned it has the coolant and screen wash (temperature?) sensor wired in series and if one of the two sensors go bad, it can trigger a...

W221 S320 CDI 2008 Yellow Engine Fan Faulty Symbol (picture)

It is a large battery - its not a back-up battery, its a standard size 12V (60Ah). I think the facelift W221 had a back-up battery in the boot but not in the pre-facelift.

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Apologies all as I haven't set up notifications on my phone for this app. Will do soon. Its the consumer battery (located in the rear boot) that's low on charge. You mention 'the original battery is a AGM'... are you referring to the starter battery or the consumer battery? The rear battery...

W221 S320 CDI 2008 Yellow Engine Fan Faulty Symbol (picture)

General rule of thumb says 11.8 is low, like 20/30% charge and 12.8/9 is 100% charge... Thats what I've read and heard over the years...

2008 W221 S320 CDI - Proper way to change rear (consumer) battery and should it be a AGM or Non-AGM?

Thanks a lot for this. I did a Google search and found one on eBay and can now see what ratings it has: 60Ah and 680A! Thanks a lot. Just got to find out if its a VRLA AGM or just a VRLA... will look into this further. Yes, it is easy indeed. I didn't know about this? Would this method be okay...
