I am the guy from Hong Kong. That is my car and no they are not LEDs.. EL/Plasma.. LEDs wouldn't have such a balanced glow. Cheers

    W124 manual gearbox!

Thanks. I, too, am unsure about his honesty. I think I'm better off purchasing the parts separately and ordering the parts new from my local parts guy then! I'll be ordering the release arm and the clutch slave cylinder thing. I'll also be getting a new clutch, used gearbox, linkage mechanism...

    W124 manual gearbox!

Thanks for all the replies! The "kit" that I've got was sold to me by a mech who did the conversion himself, but is going back to AT cux he's giving the car to his wife. Is the clutch thrust bearing not pictured in the pic attached above? I have no idea what it looks like (whoops). So...

    W124 manual gearbox!

Hello. I've finally sourced a transmission and all associated parts. The attached pic shows the parts that I've got in addition to the transmission itself. Is there any other parts that I would need? I don't want to get half way and then realise I'm missing a part or two. Is there anything that...

    Turbo...

I would have to agree. TDI is charging nearly £3k for the kit w/out installation. I thought all the kits would be quite similar and it's just the manifold that's different... Don't know... Seems liek a better idea to go for the Taiwanese one then!

I'll send another email to Arron then! I've sent an email to them but I haven't got a reply yet. Have you got a direct email address? Cheers!

    Turbo...

Thanks, Will and Graham. I've just gone through the whole 10 pages of the thread about Koolvin's install! There is actually 1 W202 C220 that has the Mosselman turbo installed in Hong Kong. However, that guy has disappeared for a few months don't know what he's up to  So it sounds...

Would this work on the late 124s? hehe

    Turbo...

Just an update. Emailed TDI. I saw on their website that the Mosselman kit for the same engine on the W202 is £2950. This is even more than what Mosselman is willing to sell me the kit! Hopefully TDI would get back to me with a decent discount... Anyway, so I went looking around...

    Turbo...

Thanks everyone for the very useful advice. I'll contact TDI shortly and see what they can do. Ian, would running 0.4bar boost be OK with the stock internals? To be honest I'm not looking for huge power gains. I just want more grunt when I need it. I'll be sticking to the Mosselman...

    Turbo...

Might as well get a turbo kit then! Sadly Mosselman has told me they've discontinued the "kit", but they are able to supply the all-important manifold and turbo, along with the intercooler. I guess getting the piping done is not too difficult?

    Turbo...

Yeh I agree with you, Will. However the car has been in the family since new and I've developed a thing for the E220. I've spent 2yrs restoring it now and I can't bear to let it go. It is longing for more "go", since I'm putting on 18"s

    Turbo...

Ahhh... I really hope I can do this but the E220 I want to work on is in Hong Kong, not where I am (i.e. London). We can't swap engines with different capacities.. :( Can I just take the compressor? :bannana:

    Turbo...

Cheers Ian and Dieselman. I've emailed Hughes Beaconsfield just now... Hopefully I'll get a reply. Regarding the S/C-ing of the M111, how easy is it? I'm open to any ideas I would just like some more power from the engine. Cheers, Jeff

    Turbo...

OK. I've decided to bite the bullet. The tiny little M111 2.2's lack of grunt is starting to annoy me. I was wondering if anyone know of, or has, a set of the Mosselman (or anything similar) turbo kit designed for this engine. If not, I'll have to buy new from Mosselman, the website of which...

    Turbo..

Hello everyone! Long time since I last posted but anyway, I have a W124 E220 (M111 engine same as the C180 C220 etc) for those of you who don't know. I'm thinking about getting a Mosselman Turbo kit or something similar. I was just wondering if the kit is worth it? Does anyone know of someone...

    really frustrated

Yes! The labour would've costed around 30quid.. I'd rather spend that on petrol since it is about 94p per litre here in HK.. Anyway, Ian, would you mind if I posted your HOWTO guide on the mbworld forum? Members there are questioning about the process. Thanks Jeff

Problem solved Ian. You've been REALLY helpful. I managed to do extract the ignition cylinder with several tries. :bannana: I ended up using two 2mm allen keys and filing them down to a sharp end because I couldn't get hold of any other tool at 8pm (I'm in Hong Kong). One point that I...

    really frustrated

Hey all. Apparently I am experiencing a problem with my ignition cylinder (or whatever you call it ) .. I did search through old posts on several mercedes forums and I decided to change the ignition cylinder :bannana: . Anyway, to cut it short, I bought a new replacement...
