2nd 3rd and drive all do the same thing, changes through 2 gears only. no top gear i read somewhere there may be a microswitch that lets the gearbox know when drive is selected. would this be true or am i way off base?

Evening all. I need to locate the gearbox microswitch on a 91 ce 300. Could any one shed any light as to where and what im looking for? Is it on the shifter or the box itself? Thanks.:dk:

Hi guys ,still cant find 3rd or 4th gear and i was wondering, if the maf was at fault could this airflow sensor thing be messing up the gear changes. Could it be that not enough air means its not time to change up?

Fluid and filter changed 3 mnth ago, levels still upto top mark at 80 degrees.Everything still attached to gearbox ,nothing loose there ,so at a loss.

you cant tow auto with drive wheels on ground.You can lift back end and tow on front wheels otherwise the gearbox is scrap. Mine had to be towed and if the front didnt clear the ground when the back lifted , it was going on a flatbed. as above the reason why auto 4x4 go on flatbeds.

I had same problem yesdterday. Ended up taking fan and pulley off also water pump pulley, complete steering pump loosened as mine was bolted to the same assembly as the tensioner.Then the 19" bolt at the front and the remaining bolts on the bracket and with a bit of wiggling was able to get the...

Dont know about the 240 mate but ive just spent 9 hours on the same job on my 300 coupe.the tensioner on mine looks like a hole for a dipstick or something, some have or should have a plastic cap on them. It has a hexagonal head tho and you turn it anticlocwise to slacken off the auxillary belt...
