Same ole W03 probs - newbie help

I would still look for a pipe with a split in it. It sounds very similar to a fault that I had a couple of years ago. It can be very difficult to spot.

    Dpf

Thanks for the quick replies. The car is a 2004. I have added a Dpf cleaner. £9.99 worth a punt but I'm not convinced. I will leave it as it is for the moment and try and inform the mechanic that it's all okay for the moment. The car is due a B service in 2000 miles so I will ask for Star...

    Dpf

Hi to everyone and Happy New Year. A couple of days ago, the engine light came on on my w203 c220 cdi. I took it to an independent garage who diagnosed dpf sensor and dpf filter. They have ordered parts to be fitted tomorrow . However, the mechanic reset the engine light and said the car will...

    Software update

Hi everyone, My local MB dealer has offered a software update for my w203. The offer came through the post. Has anyone else received one of these? My only concern is that if the software gets upgraded then my local Independent MB garage won't be able to diagnose any faults with his...

Resolved The following post is for 2004 w203 c class c220 cdi owners who's cars have loss of power and go into limp home mode. Following my earlier posts of a suspected DPF fault, the cars engine light came on whilst I was driving up the motorway in limphome mode. I called out the RAC who...

    w203 dpf

I have done a bit more research on the forum and owners of the same car have reported problems with either a split pipe to or from the intercooler. I am confused as where to start as the pipes are difficult to inspect, but sound plausible and is a cheap fix. However, there is no smoke under...

    w203 dpf

Thanks for the reply and advice. The fault has now changed in that power has been restored, but I still get a wooshing sound under acceleration. Is this the DPF trying to regenerate? I dont want to try the air mas sensor until I am sure what fault I have, then I can try and eliminate it...

    w203 dpf

Hi everyone, This is my first post and I am looking for some advice please. My W203 220cdi estate intermittently goes into limp home mode. I have had the car diagnosed on Star by a respected garage on the forum and the advice was the exhaust needs to be removed to replace the DPF. I have...
