I seem to have a problem with the steering in my CLK in that sometimes when doing a 3-point turn etc, the steering "locks up" for a second, mid turn, before behaving normally. There also seems to be about an inch of play in the steering wheel either way before the wheels actually turn...

Ive heard there is a gearbox ecu blug which is changed as it can leak oil where it joinns the gearbox, and run up into the ecu?

Does anyone know how to remove the antenna on a CLK cab? It seems to have a box attached to the inside of the wing, with no visible bolts, how is this undone? Also does anyone know if a new SL antenna can be fitted in its place?

i did note what you said, but my camber was out prior to the lowering anyway, the tyres arent wearing that unevenly, and the camber guy thinks they will only last a little less than if set up properly, im just wondering if it will solve my other problems, which were present before lowering...

dunoo if its cos mine is a facelift but the front windows are one touch down and one touch up. rear windows are one touch down, then hold the button to get them back up.

I agree they dont seem like the usual "consumable" parts that get changed often, like brakes etc, but when i spend £50 on petrol every week, even though i dont go anywhere far, I cant complain! Could be much worse, i was expecting the part to be something silly like £100!

Just changed mine 10mins ago and havent driven it yet, the old one was covered in oil though so it must be worn out, as the oil hasnt dripped down from above, only the damper was oily. only cost £21 so not too hard to swallow if theres no difference! Ill soon see how much difference it...
