    W124 Indicators not working

You could have just got some cheap BMW badges off ebay instead? No indicators required :D

    Tesco super unleaded test

We used to have a Smart car, that was remapped, from memory, to a heady 80bhp. Optimax as it was then made a huge difference to the drive of the car, to the point I wouldn't put anything else in it. Very noticeable, and I wouldn't say I'm a driver in tune with an engine well enough to notice...

    W124 / W140 key part number

Hi, this isn't really a problem, more a niggle. I have a W124, 1994, with option 880 infrared remote locking and alarm, but the key fob has no loop for a keyring - it's just a chunk of plastic, too easily lost for my liking. My part number is 140 760 0306, so I'm assuming the same...

    Experience the new E-Class

Can't wait to see the 5th owner of one of these wandering into Halfords in 15 years time for a lane-keeping sensor control unit for a Merc 320 :dk: I'm convinced the lane keeping, speed keeping, lightbulb keeping, adaptive headlights and presumably the three-speed adaptive brow-wiper are all...

Need help to measure battery drain current.

Have you tried removing all the fuses bar one, then trying each circuit by itsself overnight? Might take a month with an S class (how many fuses would it have?) but it'll give an idea of where the drain lies.

    Lambo crash [ouch!]

I like the way they try and start it to reverse it off the kerb - there's oil coolers and all sorts in that smashed up nosecone I should think  The long term Lambo report in this months Evo has a pic of the LP640 door mirror that was knocked off while reversing - all £1400-worth :(

W210 320CDI Exhaust. MB Original or Stainless?

:thumb: for JP in Macc - have used them twice and their exhausts/manifolds are works of art. They usually have some very interesting cars in there too.

    code for audio 10 cd

I've never done it, but supposedly most radios can be decoded, and as far as I can tell, the software needed to do it is very expensive - if you look in autotrader there's companies willing to do it. You can buy cds on ebay that claim to just use the model number and serial number to locate...

W124 central locking with option 880

Just to report.. after a bit of a struggle to get a cheap vacuum pump specific to cars with the infra red locking and factory alarm, Rob at Three Pointed Parts came up trumps with a pump for £30 and some other bits and pieces as well. Credit where credit's due - highly recommended :thumb: The...

    Stereo recommendation

I've also been doing car radio research, and have been told nearly ALL new head units DON'T have CD changer sockets on the back. Which is nice. :wallbash: Otherwise the Alpine MP3 thingummy would probably be a good buy for me, if it could have a CD changer plugged into it. And I owned an...

Shopping trip bonus - stumbled on a street rod GTG!

The purple with flames rod is a Victoria, 1933 or 34, rare as hens teeth, unless someone has started making grp bodies. I'd love one. :)

W204 (The new C class) quality problems?

Merc quality did take a nosedive, and maybe it's now improved, but partly at least, I blame the internet. For perceived quality of a brand, rather than actual quality - it's far easier now to get mud to stick - anyone can complain to everyone about their car falling to bits. You used to have...

    Should I buy a 280SE

A mate has a 500SEL - all £525 of it. Not the fastest thing I've driven, but not really a good example of the 126 either. Lovely thing, even has footrests for the passengers, but I'd imagine a 2.8 would barely get the thing moving, never mind anything else. V8 all the way :)

    W124 on classic car insurance?

I'm not sure the NCD applies with classic insurance - as long as you're a named driver on a 'normal' car policy, that's all they require - I think - but I stand to be corrected. E320 W124 estate - 5k per annum limit, not garaged, agreed value, £268 (I think), £250 excess, with Classicline, who...

    An awesome Ironside E Cab!

If I had 40k, would I buy it? No chance. But if I had 4 million, and space to store about 20 cars, something like that would be on my shopping list.

    W124 E320 Coupe Values

I did, ages ago, see that on ebay.com (US site) they sell non-genuine armrest covers for R107s - may well do them for the W124 too. Colour match may be a problem though.

    W124 electric driver seat motor

Aha, I will have a look to see if mine's the same. Many thanks - couldn't find anything on the interweb anywhere. This weekend, I shall mostly be upside down in the rear footwell inhaling WD-40 :bannana:
