Key turns a quater turn but nothing happens. Door will not unlock and central locking does not work either. Can lock door and activate central locking from that door though.

Right after stripping down locks and giving a good squirt with wd 40, everything is better. Though driver door now unlocks it will not re lock, what is there behind the door? The rod from the barrel vanishes into the door, has anyone got a pic of what it attatches to? Is it servicable? Thanks...

Though it could be the dreaded dry joint, just took out and resoldered the heater controls as dash board lights flashed when the lights were on. Hmmm might set up a company offering a re soldering service for these cars.

Spot on, found it behind the fuse box. It had been wedged in using cardboard, i took it out cleaned it up. Jobs a good un. Thanks once again.

Thinking about it, the indicator fuse and headted rear window must be on a different fuse. Very confused.

Hmmmmm, welcome to the wonderful world of w202 electric gremlins. I have found with mine that there is nothing orribly wrong with the electrics on these cars. Just niggles due to their age. I would check heater controls for dry joints, thats what i found on mine.
