My W212 was supplied with Hankook Ventus S1 evo 2s. They are as good as any of the premium brand tyres I've had and I'll probably stay with them at renewal time.

I use a CTEK xs3600 charger if I've been doing a lot of low mileage, start/stop driving and there is no need to disconnect the battery on my E320CDI. IIRC, a new battery cost me around £100 from the dealer.

I started getting the same thing when my E320CDI was 30 months old (I do a lot of start/stop short journeys). I got through that winter but had to get a new battery at 42 months because the original was no longer holding its charge.

I'm also meticulous about checking tyre pressures but I suspect that the cause of my high tyre wear lies here ;)

Thanks for the replies. It looks like it's time to move from the Pilot G1s to the Primacy HPs. As for wear.... I only get about 18,000 miles out of a set of 4 :eek: (swapped front to rear at 9K) but I hardly do any motorway driving; it's mainly bendy country road stuff.

It's time to replace the Michelin Pilot Primacy G1s on my W211. I've been told that the Pilot Primacy has been replaced by the Primacy HP. I assume that the newer Primacy HP doesn't have the rim protector that comes with the G1. Any thoughts on whether I should switch to the newer HPs or hunt...
