    S212 rear suspension sinking

Thanks for the advice, will get it checked out, sounds rather like an expense I really don't need at the moment!

    S212 rear suspension sinking

I've noticed recently that my rear suspension is sinking when the car is parked, and I get a message saying to wait whilst it rises when I start the engine. It drops an inch or so overnight, more if left longer, I don't think it used to sink as much as that but it may just be because I don't use...

    S212 towbar coding?

I bought a Witter tow bar from P F Jones with a dedicated electronics kit and fitted it myself. Very straightforward if you are reasonable handy with spanners and can follow instructions. Everything is pre-drilled and fits, no drilling or modifications are needed. You do need a "special tool"...

    S212 towbar coding?

I've recently fitted a tow bar and a full "dedicated" electrics kit to my 2012 S212 and expected it to need coding on Star for everything to work correctly, the Westfalia kit said it was needed. However it seems that everything works as far as lighting is concerned, even the trailer bulb...

W210 SRS Common Fault (and other models)

You may find there is nothing wrong with the sensor at all, it is just a broken wire. I had this problem a few years ago, it was caused through the sensor cable not being sufficiently flexible and fracturing. The solution is to bare the wires near the seat sensor (seat removed) and test for...

Thanks to John Haynes Auto Technics

I'd like to pass on my thanks to John Haynes Auto Technics in Worthing, and recommend them to members, Yesterday evening my S210 E class started flashing its indicators after locking, incredibly bad timing since I am off on a trip to France with the car tomorrow. I could lock the doors...

    W210 Light circuit

There is a socket for trailer lighting to plug into behind the main light switch on a 210 series, indicators have to be connected into the loom though, recommended place is at the rear of the sills either side. You can still get a wiring kit from Jaeger, but the instructions are in German!

Has anyone used "The Headlight Surgeon"

I polished the lights on my e class a week or so back using a "3M headlight restoration kit" bought on eBay for £20. Very easy and quick, very good results.

    Strange crackle/clicking from 210 e class

Everything works perfectly, I even tried out the alarm by deliverately triggering the interior motion sensor and it certainly works! Is there a seperate fuse for the alarm system so I could disable the sounder perhaps?

    Strange crackle/clicking from 210 e class

It's a 320cdi diesel, I don't think it is vacuum generated, fairly sure it is electrical. It is still doing it after being parked up for about 18 hours. I am wondering if the alarm sounder is around that area somewhere? It sounds like a loose electrical connection crackling through a speaker.

    Strange crackle/clicking from 210 e class

I've noticed a very strange crackle/clicking sound coming from my 210 e class these past few days. It seems to come from under the bonnet, immediately in front of the driver, quite close to where the fuses are. The noise is there (intermittently) all the time, engine running or not, although...

    SRS - restraint system defective....help!

I had this same problem, the fault was not the sensor, but the wire attached to it! This is a three core cable, and one of the cores had fractured mid-way along its length. I simply cut the cable near the sensor and near the plug, soldered in some high quality flexible multi-core cable and...
