No I dont think so, had that switched off when I had it on star

Well I have a new problem now, when I turn off the ignition the front sidelights and rear lights stay on, dashboard lights dont so not sure what to do now?

Had it on star, showing fault as light/rain sensor problem. Looks like someone has been trying to get at it before I had it, cover has a couple of screwdriver marks on it

Yeah when its dark headlights come on with ignition, switching the switch makes no difference.

Thanks, should have said lights work fine during the day, at night the headlights come on regardless of switch position

Hi I have a 2004 ml270 and when the ignition is on the headlights automaticly come on and wont swith off, working fine when ignition off but switch makes no difference when running. Any ideas?

Hi The engine managment light came on a couple of weeks ago, cleared the fault but it came back on again, had it plugged into star and component y3/8s1 selection range sensor is defective is the fault, car is driving fine at the moment, any ideas?

Got it all sorted, put in some injector cleaner an brought it for a good spin, seemed to work well but when I got home I heard the chuffing of an injector washer so had to fix that too.It was still smokey on accelaration so checked air filter which was very dirty, last year I changed it for test...

Hi had my ml in for test and it failed emissions test, too smokey, 3.35 when limit is 3. Is there anything that can be checked on star to see whats causing this?

Might be worth checking oil level in the gearbox, low level will send it into limp mode

gearbox oil level being too low can cause this too

There is one that is the same shape as the clamp that holds the injector into the head, it goes on to a slide hammer also. Have you tried putting the clamp back on and leaving it loose, then turning the engine over to see if the compression might shift it.

should be a lot better on fuel, I noticed a huge difference when I replaced mine

You could test the thermostat on the cooker in a large pot of water, bring it to the boil and see if its working

Finally got around to this, bought some sensors from ebay, the only ones that can be changed without removing the bumper is the 2 front ones on the side
