By ground, I mean checking the light unit ground connection for corrosion, not the ground for corrosion!

    W211 Dim headlights

Hi everyone, I have a 2006 W211 that has been unused for a few years. I finally got around to putting it back on the road and I've noticed that the headlights seem terribly dim, at least the xenons do. After a google, it seems the most obvious thing to check first is the ground for corrosion...

    W211 front suspension sitting high

Ok, I see, thanks for clarifying. They were genuine MB springs and shock absorbers. I just came off the phone from MB in Bury st Edmunds and after a serious investigation, he thinks he's found the original specs - hooray! I need to confirm the colours on the installed springs to confirm - I'll...

Good suggestion, thanks, I'll try that. By the way, what do you mean by aftermarket route? Is there another avenue I could be exploring?

    W211 front suspension sitting high

Thanks for the help everyone. To be honest, I don't know if he ordered them correctly. I know he mentioned then being colour coded and car specific so I was quite surprised they looked so odd. But he was/is my next door neighbour so I didn't complain too much. This is a good couple of years ago...

    W211 front suspension sitting high

Neither! They were genuine mercedes parts fitted by my neighbour. He had trouble getting the right ones because mercedes told him they were coded to the individual car..

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know where I would be able to find the settings for the adjustment ring?

    W211 front suspension sitting high

Hi everyone, I have a 2006 W211 E280. I had the front shock absorbers and springs replaced a couple of years ago and I've always thought the front end looked very high afterwards. I'm also rubbing out front tyres on the outside edge for fun which I never did before, which according to my logic...

    W211 corroded brake pipe

Thanks everyone, looks like its best left for an expert! Anyone have any idea of what I should expect to pay an independent specialist?

    W211 corroded brake pipe

Hi Everyone, I own a 2006 E280 petrol that has been sitting idle for the last two years because of a faulty Xenon ballast. I finally got around to replacing it after removing the bumper cover, protective covers etc etc. It turns out, I could have gotten away with only removing the floor cover...

    W211 Xenon ballast

Hi everyone, My passenger side xenon stopped working so I've just swapped over the ballast unit from the drivers side and it works again, it looks like the ballast is faulty. I've been looking for a replacement this afternoon and there seem to be a abundance of them for around £20-40, some on...

Thanks for info. I replaced the main batt and checked the voltage and it looks as though the alternator is working fine. Guess it must be bad luck..
