    Changing discs on a W114

Looked today, and yes you are right. Disc is bolted to front face of the hub - you can see the ends of the bolts on the wheel mounting face. No access to the bolts from behind, and anyway, the disc has to be demounted rearwards which will need the hub to be taken off the suspension arms...

    Yokohama Vs Pirelli

Interesting point, as the Toyos T1Rs are fitted to a front drive Audi. I notice that Audi are now fitting Toyo to the higher performance variants instead of Pirelli. Toyo have just released T1 Sports, which et claim to be a heavier tyre due to improved construction and a more convectional tread...

    Changing discs on a W114

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the discs on a W114 without have to remove the wheel bearings etc. They fix on the hub from the rear, but the brake shield is in the way and I cannot see how you can get to the disc mounting bolts with everything in place.

    Yokohama Vs Pirelli

I have had P Zero, and have Yokohamas on my Mini Cooper. The tyre that has beaten both for me has been Toyo. They were quiet, superb grip and have outlived both Pirelli and Yokohama. The life has been a surprise, as I thought with the excellent grip they would be a soft tyre, but this has not...

    w114 280CE body panels

Be interested in how you get on, as I am about to do nearly the same. Will replace both front wings, and they certainly look the same as the saloon. Don't need a rear valence and my arches may be salvageable. Certainly the side panel is different, but I don't know if a saloon repair will fit if...

    w114 280CE body panels

Just picked up a new MB offside front wing for £150. It was bought from MB for over £500 on special order, and then the restorer found they didn't need it! Is W115 post facelift with the under front bumper black plastic panels?

    w114 280CE body panels

Looking as well for panels. Hadrian seem to be the source for pattern panels, pricing here: Replacement body panels and lighting - MERCEDES - W114 - LPP Customs These are W114 saloon parts, so if it is just the arches gone, then you would neet to cut this out of a saloon arch panel and...

    Cold Idle W114 280CE with M110

I am restoring a 71 W114 280CE with 69k on the clock. It has the Bosch D Jetronic system, and wont cold idle. Starts no problem, will idle when reaching normal temp and is ok warming up if you keep the throttle pressed to a fast idle. When warm idle is managed ok when engaging auto drive...
