You're not starting at the shallow end are you! If, before you size the walls, you give them a coat of watered down pva and then once dry, give them another coat of 'not as much watered down' pva, this will give, when dry, a good surface that remains slippy when sized, allowing easy adjustment...

I've had many Triumph 2000's, 2500's and 2.5pi's throughout my motoring life. The 2.5pi cylinder head with the fuel injection can be bolted straight onto the 2000 unit. Install the electric fuel pump too. A revvy little thing and great fun!

Unless you have the carrying capacity for huge amounts of bedding to put between you and the mattress, avoid airbeds. It's a large block of air that saps all the warmth out of you. Get the biggest thermarest you can. They're warm, comfy, insulating and much less likely to puncture. Even a car...
