Solved this issue, it appeared that the display in the rear was actually installed backwards and the lights were facing the back screen not the front. Spun the display round all good now!.

Thanks Fenns, Tyres are Conti Sport Contact II's. They haven't been on that long timewise but have done about 20,000 on them. I have them all round so may look at swapping front to back and see what happens.

It's a good car really, but I guess with the Cats needing doing and now this rear end problem you have to think is it worth drawing the line somewhere. But what to replace it with!

Hmmm not sure which Cats need doing, I thought there were 2, a drivers side and a passenger side. They both make one hell of racket which has got much worse over the last few months.
