Well I could be bad your valves could have been open/down and the piston coming up to hit them! At the very least you will need a new chain so you just aswel take head off and have a look to see what it's actualy done befor you make the decision to get a new engine.

Not good, insurance companies are a pain in the ass, always looking for ways not to pay.
