With the car sitting in a barn for a year mice had ate through 2 of the 5 wires that go to air flow meter. Discovered they had nibbled bits off brake reservoir cap as well.

My rear diff is a 14mm for both drain and fill.

Hi, Noticed when i got out of my 1997 merc clk one brake light was staying on with key removed ? Thought it was the indicator stick was in right postition still (right brake light staying on) but it wasnt... i removed key and replaced and restarted it and turned off and brake light went out...

Yeh I seen that but its a bit hit and miss delivery times from usa. You would think someone in uk would have one. I would get one from merc online but dont know part number of it.

I tried, but i cant get a good hold to remove it. I think you really need the special tool thats angled if you dont want to risk damaging anything.

Hi, Have hunted for ages.. what is the part number of the spark plug lead remover tool for 1997 clk 320 v6 ? .. the angled spanner thing. Any places online you can get one of these ? Had a look on fleabay and only people in usa selling them. Cheers

Well i joined them up with other bits of wire... car runs fine and hopefully no more stalling. I could see the missing bits of wire that had dropped off on top of engine below maf plug.... i think engine heat just made them brittle or burnt them. I also noticed another wire broke and fixed that...

Hi, Yeh the colours on the wires match but seem like they couldnt of ever joined as they are too far apart thats the weird thing... maybe they have burned away or something ?

Hi, Got a 1997 clk 320 sport and it is stalling out at junctions (and once hard to start - 3 attempts) Basically I was looking at air flow meter and discovered the wiring going to the air flow meter connector is broken on 2 wires ? Thing is, these wires look like they couldnt possible of joined...

I dont think its dripping .. just a dampness on cover .. im afraid though the diff might be low on oil so ill need to check it to be safe i think.

This boot switch problem was a blown fuse for the boot light - changing fuse fixed boot light,rear passenger dome light, and boot release light switch being on red. Think its fuse number 2 or 3 in boot fuse box.

I took out the camshaft sensor and it looked like hell. It was covered in a serious amount of junk and I cleaned it up. Its been fine last three times driving car so hopefully that might be it. Will update if its not :)

Hi, Noticed the rear differential of my 1997 clk 320 sport leaking.. its leaking at end cover.. seems to be fresh oil coming down from upper half middle area of end cover. Been looking at epc and was wondering.. 1. where do you fill it up with oil ? 2. How do you check oil level in diff ...

It starts most of the time fine.. it seems to be more an issue of stalling at lights/junctions with a hint of not starting as well.:doh: The times its died when starting seems more like its running for a split second and something electrical stalls it after its running.

Thanks for the help. What are the bits/sockets called to remove the screw for camshaft sensor ? Infact all bolts on engine are all them weird star shaped nut things ? :) What are they called ?

Well put a new fuel filter (needed one anyway) on it and still the same ....stalling shortly after coming up to a stop at traffic lights/junctions. I was thinking theres possibly something controlling idling speed and it just goes to low and stalls ? anybody any other ideas what would cause...

Hi, Thanks for info. This car had been left unused for a year.. i wonder is fuel filter clogged ? This morning it started for a few seconds then engine died... it does seem like its not getting fuel or immobilzer is killing engine just after it starts.. On second start it was ok and runs great.
