    16" 10 hole wheels -225/55/r16 tyres?

Be careful if its a W210 though AANDYY i've just been through this loop if you look at my recent threads. I've just had four new tyres fitted, 215 55 R16's, because the 225 55 R16's on the W211 Rucha alloys I bought for my w210 (along with bolt pack 4) are touching on the inside suspension...

    Low cost tyre suggestions

I'm in the same boat as you and about to buy a set of falkens tomorrow, 215 55 R16's for my W210. I came close to the Wanli S1063 or 1088's but after doin my research on the net have concluded the falkens are a better buy for the extra £100. If you don't mind me asking how much did it all...

    HELP W211 16" Rucha's on W210

OK npuk. Forums are very new to me and i've never posted before until just recently. I used to just sift through the endless threads to try and resolve my problems. Can i edit the title of previously posted thread if I want to update the subject? Regarding the tyres I know 215/55/R16's...

    W211 16" Rucha Alloys on W210 E220 CDI Elegance

Hi All, After having problems trying to get my staggered 16" CLK Cygnus alloys to work on my W210 (ABS, BAS & ESP malfunctions due to differant tyre sizes - 205 55 R16's front and 225 50 R16's rear) I decided to bid, and have won some W211 16" Rucha's off ebay. I've not long got back from...

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

All my 205's are on 7"rims. I've googled 205's on 8J rims and there is a lot of debate for and against. I suppose all i can do is talk to my tyre fitter, if they won't fit then it looks like I might have a spare set of corvus alloys...i'll just have to save up for the clk to fit them on! Lets...

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

Right, do you think 205 55 R16's are suitable on an 8J rim. I'm amazed by the effect these differant sized tyres have made, even though the overall tyre circumference/diameter differance seems to be less than 2mm between 225 50 R16 and 205 55 R16... Is my W210 that finely tuned!?!!

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

Important Update: We are thinking along the same lines 230k. I've just replaced my rear cygnus alloys, 225 50 R16 8J ET 32, with my old corvus fronts, 205 55 R16 7J ET 37, to match my new cygnus fronts and meaning I have the same tyres sizes and rim widths on all four wheels and guess what...

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

Great, thats good news. I like the Cygnus alloys too and think they suit the W210. Did you just bolt them straight on using your old alloy wheel nuts, and no needs for spacers? My existing wheel nuts sit flush with the alloy wheel face on the fronts, but are 10-12mm sunken on the rears, i...

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

Thanks. I never had these, or any malfunctions before with my old scuffed and rough alloy wheel set- up. It has only just started following change to shiny new staggered alloys and tyres set-up. I hope its coincidence but can't help wondering if the wider rims and tyres on the rears are...

Staggered Alloys on W210 E220 CDI (Facelift) ABS, ESP & BAS Malfunction

Hi, As of yesterday i'm now running with the following staggered wheel set-up on my 1999 (facelift) W210 E220 CDI: Front - 205 55 R16 7J ET37 Rear - 225 50 R16 8J ET32 Its not a set-up that is recognised for the W210 on the single place to check Mercedes AMG BMW alloy wheels & tyres...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Cruise control, air con and everything else seems to work ok, not sure how to test if abs still works but the braking of the car when approaching roundabouts etc. doesn't feel any differant than before...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Alternatively could I go to my local tyre fitter and have 205 55 R16 fitted to the rear 8" rims, replacing the 225 50 R16's? This would make all four tyres, diameters and circumferences the same, just wider rims on rear (8J ET 32) than front (7J ET37) Are 205 tyres suitable on 8J rims...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Possibly. What about the malfunctions, am i causing the merc any harm by continuing to drive with the abs, esp & bas lights on? I've looked at some old posts and its seems these malfunctions can be tricky to eliminate, anything from a brake switch, wheel sensor, or even a new battery...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Yeah, i checked with that website before i won my new cygnus alloys. But my old corvus alloys which were on the car when i bought it were not listed as a fit either. After emailing that website they said that there was not much differance between the corvus and cygnus wheel specs. I...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Thanks for the reply. The tyres are good, all evenly worn, not new but with approximately 5mm tread on each. I've checked a few tyre calculators on line and they all concur that my new cygnus wheel set-up is not that much differant from my previous corvus wheel set-up with the following...

    W210 E220 CDI Wheel Upgrade

Hi All, This is my first ever post on a forum. I got my first MB four months ago, a silver 1999 (facelift) E220 CDI with black leather interior and only 93000 miles on the clock. I've done 5000 trouble free miles already and love it. Today i upgraded the alloys to W208 Cygnus alloys...
