    Not sure about the ign switch, I mot'd it yesterday everything was fine, fitted new bulbs in the main and side. After the mot the epc lights on, power loss, auto windows don't work and my new chuffing sidelight bulbs are blown :( The car failed on a minor point but I can't retest it...

    It's intermittent power loss, it will go into limp mode with the EPC light on for a short while then fix its self. Have changed map, vac transducer, all o rings, filters etc.... .Could a bad earth do this because the auto window control seems to stop working around the same time?

    At idle in neutral the revs drop by 1-200rpm when I press the brakes which makes the engine chug, could it be a pump fault as I seem to get problem after problem with this bloody car. Thanks Pete.

    I did have a problem with air in the pipes but after changing the orings its much better. I happens when the engine idles in neutral, runs nice and smooth until you put your foot on the brake and it starts to chug like it wants to stall.

    Doh!!! That puts an end to that sketchy plan. Strangley the EPC light has been off since I started this thread, I removed the vac line to the transducer and gave it a blow/suck which seems to clear the fault for a few days. Are these valves serviceable in any way?

    Hi, thanks for the info. Does your chart tell you if the solenoid is: maximum OCR- Maximum vac (5v) minimum OCR- No vac? I have a couple of vac control solenoids which might work as they are controlled via the earth pin on the ECU. Thanks Pete.

    Oh not read the codes but planning on it when I get hold of some dosh. The fault is intermittent and can last a few days. From what I have read there are only three sensors that will put it in limp mode and the others appear to be ok.

    My EPC light is on and I am convinced its the turbo control vacuum solenoid. My plan is to use the EGR solenoid as I have disabled it. Instead of splicing into the wires I would like to swap the EGR/boost control at the ecu connector then just make new vac lines.

    one thing I noticed today is that with the engine running and the exhaust blocked on the vac solenoid for the turbo the wastegate moved which I assume is correct due to maximum vacuum being applied to the actuator. Doing this a few times made the EPC light go out and max power was restored...

    I have had problems with air getting in the system so I recently changed the orings and the one behind the stop solenoid. It was since then that the problem started, it also runs on for maybe 2sec if that's a sign of anything.
