Yes you do,,, take the head rests off and the 2 levers that are next to where you insert the headrests ,,move both levers or buttons ,,,whatever you want to call them, and the seat should fold down,,I know because I have a 1988 300 TE ,,hope this helps

Well she's solved ,,it was the OVP ,,one 99Cent 10 amp fuse ,,,,she was burned out ,,replaced it and it idles nice and runs like a champ ,,it was not the cold start relay ,,thanks and I hope this helps someone .. Mark

Thanks Will, What oil do I use for the 6 cylinder , The oil change place says it only puts 5 w 30 in all cars ????? I thought the 88 benz take 40 or 50 weight ,,,

Yes It does ticks or knocks all the time ,,,, but it just started about 1 month ago the car was stored for 8 years ,,Yes I changed the oil but the oil change place said they only put 5 w 30,, what is the correct oil for a 6 cylinder ?? Isnt it 40 or 50 weight ??? thanks Mark

Now Mercedes masters the fuses on my 300 te are weird , I have never seen anythin look like them?? are there any replacements that work as efficiently ? Or must I get the same king ? thanks
