I know what you mean. The "normal" headlights on the 171 are quite poor. When I had mine I fitted Osram Night Breakers which weren't much brighter but seemed to project further. Whichever it was they helped a bit.

Picked up my SL from the dealers on the 28th October. Did the V5C online at the same time, and it arrived today. The refund for the VED arrived after about a week and the notice that I was no longer the registered keeper of my old car about a week after that.

I bought a top cover for my SL from Hamilton Classic Ltd, and I'm very pleased with it. Very easy to put on/take of, nice breathable material, and no sign of damage from the elastic straps. They also do full covers, but I've no experience of these.
