    Dehumidifiers

I have a Meaco DD8L which is really good. My well insulated house has condensation problems, especially if drying washing in the house. It has different humidity level settings, fan speeds and a timer. Which best buy too. Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier (is a Which? Best Buy 2014), Home Dehumidifiers...

    White goods question: Washer dryers

I'm with Daveenty. I have separate washer and tumble drier, but reckon the dehumidifier is better at drying. I have a Meaco DD8L which does a good job. The heat it uses as part of the drying process stays in the house. My mother in law has recently moved and could only have a washer/dryer...

    Wing mirror indicators not working

Hi All, I have recently found out that the offside indicator in the wing mirror is not working on my 2010 B-Class W245. There has been no "bulb blown" warning on the dashboard, I assume it was working at the MOT in March. I have done a search and found a thread which referred to a "How to"...

    Mercedes gla45 amg: Driven

I had a look at the GLA the other day and decided it is not for me. I expected it to be taller than the new B-class, and somewhat similar in height to my W245 B-class, but it isn't even close. So now I am looking at other small SUV cars, and of course there is plenty of choice, Audi Q3 taking...

It could be the use of hand lotion. Our house phones always lose the surface of the buttons. Terry

    Travelling to Malta, any Advice?

A couple of years ago we stayed in Sliema at the Imperial Hotel. Was once very grand, not quite so grand now but still a nice place to stay It was nice being able to take the water taxi to Valletta, a few minutes ride for around 1euro. Favourite place to eat was Ta'Kris. Lots of nice and safe...

    Service care plan

I didn't have a service plan until early this year when I was quoted £759 (£312 for the B service and £447 for the other stuff such as brake fluid change, ATF change, 3x filters etc) for the 4 year service on my 2010 B200 which had done 37k miles. I took out a service plan at £60 a month for 2...

    Mercedes gla45 amg: Driven

I will be considering the GLA when I come to replace my B200 in a years time. The new B class is lower to get into, I prefer the slightly higher position of my current car, and the GLA is a between the two. With prices starting at £25,850 I think it is not as expensive as I thought it might be...

    R/C Helicopter

I agree with Mr. B. The small twin rotor helicopters are easy to fly, are pretty much indestructible and are great for indoor use. I have a small 9 Eagles Solo Pro, which was around £80. It has a single rotor and fly-bar, so it looks more like a real helicopter, but is still easy to fly indoors...

    GLA Edition 1

I will be interested to see what the GLA is like when i want to replace my B-class. As the new B-class has become a much lower car I think the GLA will be closer to the height I have got used to. Much will depend on the price, which I suspect will probably start around £25k like the BMW X1...

    Phillips X-treme Vision

I fitted a pair of those bulbs, 1 failed after around 15 months, the other a month later, so the original bulbs are now back in the car, which are also Philips. The x-treme were better. Terry

    Nexus 4

I have a nexus 4 which is very good except.... it will pair by bluetooth with my Audio 20, download phonebook, make and receive calls but does not transfer audio, so i cannot hear the caller and they cannot hear me! From searching the internet it seems there are other car radios and other...

Samsung Galaxy Ace with MB B Class

I had a HTC desire which worked fine in my B-class. I have changed to a Google Nexus 4, which pairs OK, downloaded phone book OK. I can make a call, and receive a call through the system, but cannot hear or be heard by the other end. It seems from searching other forums to be a problem with...

Drove up the famous California Highway 1

I too did that road a few years ago, San Francisco to Santa Monica, with a stop at San Simeon for a couple of nights to see Hearst Castle. Venture into the hills for some wonderful views in that area. I really liked San Francisco, hated Los Angeles (mainly because I always seemed to get lost)...

The Official Gucci & Burger DB5 1:8 model thread

Well done for making the model. I wonder how many of those that started actually finished their car? Reminds me of when I made a model of a Ferarri racing car (Nigel Mansells one) with a Tamiya kit. I got all the paints required (around 40 colours with all the non-standard mixes), painted...

B-class (W245) rattle in overhead console

I got the console off OK by using an old credit card to wedge between the housing and roof lining then a quick twist and off it popped. 5 electrical connectors go to it...about 4 more than I expected! Anyway I think the rattle was caused by the map reading light switches (made of hard plastic)...

B-class (W245) rattle in overhead console

Hi all, Does anyone know how the overhead console (above the rear view mirror) on a B-Class comes off? I have an annoying rattle from somewhere inside it. I suspect it needs a carefully positioned screwdriver to lever it off, but any clues as to where the screwdriver should be put would be...
