W203 SRS control module part numbers

Hello all, I have a UK W203 C180 (year 2000) which has a faulty SRS control module. I picked up a replacement part (new) but I want to check the model numbers are compatible before going to all the trouble of putting it all back together again. Old part number 0018209726, new part number...

    Why won't the alarm stop?

Having left the engine running for a significant period of time, this problem seems to have evaporated. Maybe the backup battery has been recharged? Thanks for the help anyway. James

    Why won't the alarm stop?

Yeah, that would make sense. In that case, is there a way I can disconnect the siren for now? That way I can attempt to fix the other (slightly more fundemental) problems in peace and deal with a replacement battery later. James

    Why won't the alarm stop?

Hi, I have finally got around to starting work to bring my Grandad's w203 C180 back on the road. I believe I have everything I need. However, it has sat for nearly a year without being run, so as you can imagine the battery is totally flat (won't even remove the ignition lock). I have got a...

    SAM repair or replace?

Hmm, I priced a replacement part from the stealers, and it is £250. So i decided to buy one that I found on ebay for £40 delivered. Advertised as never put on a car, but then you never know. Having fitted it the same problem is present. Ie indicators don't work and hazards only flash quickly...

    SAM repair or replace?

Does anyone know the part number for the Front Right SAM unit, so I can get some prices etc. Or will I need to ring the stealers? James

    SAM repair or replace?

It appear I've got a bust SAM, since my indicators don't work, neither do hazards, and brakes are on all the time. However the indicators do flash when unlocking / locking. My question though, is it possible to have it repaired, or have I got to buy a new one. If so how much we looking at...

    Flasher Unit? 203

Could this fault also be the cause of some strange tail light behavoir? They appear to be on permanently, no matter what the switch position is. Thanks

Thanks guys, might be a dumb question but what is a "SAM unit"? Some kind of combined relay?

    Have I missed a service?

That's alright then, and next time, I'll make sure SHE is treated better!!

    Have I missed a service?

Yeah I was pretty sure I'd missed it, but wanted another opinion. In that case when I get the B done, do I need to worry about the A stamp that will be missing. It's just I want to preserve the "full dealership history" bla bla bla.

    Have I missed a service?

Cheers for the heads up, however my dad is fairly sure that he saw "Service X overdue by Y days", the B service is now telling me it's overdue by Z miles. He can't be sure if said Service A at any point, but I'm inclined to think it did.

    Anyone, any ideas?

    Have I missed a service?

I have been at university for the last 8 months, and I have left the c class at home in the care of my parents (complicated situation). I had a B service done last year (April) at ludicrous cost. However the car now says it needs another B service. In fairness it has done nearly 10000 miles...

    Flasher Unit? 203

The indicators on my grandad's C180 (w203) have gone crazy. Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they don't work, and other times the indicators come on and off randomly as do the hazard lights! I'm fairly sure the problem is the flasher unit, but my question is; where is it? Thanks James

What RAM do I need for this motherboard?

I would also recommend corsair, particularly their twinX kits for dual channel.

What RAM do I need for this motherboard?

According to the ASUS website the P5GD1-VM takes dual channel DDR400. Therefore you can put any PC3200 (400Mhz) DDR ram in. You can almost certainly use slower RAM too, and it will just be run at the slower speed (note not all mobos can do this). Don't use DDR2 RAM though! James

    W208 rough as old boots.

Yeah the leads are genuine. I suppose it could be other coil packs. Wold the fault computer be able to tell which packs were gone?

    W208 rough as old boots.

The "friend" in question says it started long before the petrol issue, some point in Q4 2006. Thanks for the idea though, I hadn't thought of that.
