    Stroke

Last Wednesday, I suffered a small stroke. Nothing to write home about I thought. So I phoned my doctor to tell him what had happened and he immediately rang the hospital to arrange an appointment for me. On Friday, someone from the hospital rang me to arrange an appointment for today. So off I...

    Alcantara

Does anyone know the best way to clean alcantara heated seats ? Obviously I don't want to get them too wet due to the heating elements in the seat. Of course, I had to order the seats in white/ very light cream, so they show every mark.

    What has M.B come to?

I have not driven a Merc since I sold my SLK, but recently I had occasion to rent a C200 estate auto . OK it drove as a MB should, quietly and smoothly and was reasonably comfortable BUT the infotament system!! As it was a hire car there was no handbook or nav sd card so I had to go on intuition...

    Back in a Mercedes

As per the title, but in an unfortunate way. Some bast-rd decided it would be fun to key my Volvo, not just one panel, but all down the nearside - all panels. Result is that while the Volvo is in for a n/s respray I have been given a Class estate as a loan car. Not been far in it yet to form an...

    GLA. Any opinions.

As per title, has anyone got any experience of the GLA auto, petrol or diesel. Thinking it might feature on my future cars list.

    Simplon Pass

I will be driving to Italy via France and Switzerand on 11th May and one of my overnight stops is Chateau D'Oex near Gruyeres. The following day I will be driving to Stresa via the Sion valley and the Simplon pass. My question is, will the pass be open and will any other roads on that route be...

    Shall I or shan't I?

Toying with the idea of selling my 2002 SLK 230K. It's not that there is anything wrong with it, but my motability buggie will not go in the boot with the roof down, and the whole idea of a convertable is to have roof down driving. To those of you who have seen the car on various GTGs will know...

110 miles at an average 115 mph.

That got you! Although quite true, albeit in a vehicle with only 100 horses. Flew from Blackbushe to Portsmouth, on to Salisbury for a nice cuppa and then back to Blackbushe. Great views over the Solent and New Forest, but unfortunately slightly hazy...

    Youth of today

Just had my faith in the youth of today restored. Saturday evening about 1930 a knock on my front door. I opened the door to be faced with a youth of about 19 in a hoodie. As I am an OAP, you can imagine the thoughts that ran through my head. " Are you the owner of the red car parked outside?"...

    Insurance renewal

Just renewed the insurance on my SLK. Fully comp. protected no claims, wife on as well - £195.04. We do get 10 years no claim and multi car discount, but not a bad price. What do you think? :bannana::bannana::bannana:

The good, the bad and the ugly.

The Good. My SLK has just passed the MOT again, with no advisories. £ 10.00 - hows that for value, courtesy of Tony Purslow of Guildford. The Bad. Reversing into my garage, I caught the wing mirror on the garage door arms, pulling the door down onto the bonnet. The Ugly. Two dents and two...

    Pcs

I took my SLK down to Ollies this morning to have a star diagnosis. I arrived earlier than the time agreed, but Ollie got straight on to it. Star came up with no codes, and when I asked "how much" Ollie said "NO CHARGE" After all the recent posts about charges for a Star connect, what can I say...

    Sunburn

Don't be fooled by the thread title, I'm loving this sunny warm weather. I've been using the SLK a lot more over the last few days solely because that is what I bought it for,- roof off motoring. After one days motoring, I realised that suntan cream was a must and thereafter, glorying in the sun...
