    e220

Yeah i had one of them. An ex-taxi with about 250ks on the clock or maybe more. It was a station wagon and besides my e200t was one of the best cars that i owned. Ran only on lpg which was half the cost of petrol, could fit a sofa in the back and because it was an old taxi i never cared much if...

    e220

That did cross my mind but the following changed my mind 1) My car does not have air-conditioning which is needed in Oz 2) My car is an estate (which i love) but will want to convert gas and saloon is more pratical for that 3) By selling my car and not incurring costs of transporting it I...

    e220

Have had my '94 E200T for nearly a year now and never been happier with any car that i have owned. Indeed whenever i give someone a lift in it they always comment on it. The only thing gone wrong so far is the passenger window regulator which i must get around to fixing. Looks like i will be...

Should I swap both Mercs for this? Advice please?

I'd personally always stay away from Ebay items where the vendor uses CAPITAL LETTERS. Seriously. I'd be very wary.

    1965 Classic Mercedes Benz 600

Its such a pain to read ebay items when in capital letters. Someone should tell him its akin to shouting.

    Coupes and Cabs in Ireland

ya mad bas*ard. 140 from a 1.3. Mate that sounds sweet. Also those 8v GTI engines are legendary and you put it into a caddy. Sweet. What are you doing with a panzerwagon ?

    Coupes and Cabs in Ireland

Not really a petrol head but i figure the 16v has better performance. I find mine is sufficient but with petrol at the price these days i drive , i read this here somewhere, like a vicar with slippers on. The auto really makes for relaxed driving coupled with the high driving position and centre...

    Coupes and Cabs in Ireland

So you got urs for €3000 if you include transport etc. Not bad for a '96 even if it is a manual;) Yeah those vrt rates seems at odds. The silver one in waterford is nice but its been on the market for a while now. Its missing leather which is probably why it has not sold but silver is a...

    Coupes and Cabs in Ireland

Have a look at this List of W124 coupes and cabs in ireland. What looks like a good coupe buy? I included the cabs as you can see they have a '94 cab with only 35,000 on the clock. Think i saw this before. Must be a UK import. Probably better to import a coupe myself as prices seem high ?

    300CE knowledge please

Basically if you know someone emmigrating to OZ in a years time tell them to buy a w124 coupe and import it. I have the estate but thinking of switching to the coupe as i could be heading back myself.

Think of selling my W124 Estate

Nice model. Should have no problem selling it as seems to have an excellent history and has the 5 speed auto. Points against it maybe is that it is a pre-facelift model and that its not leather(guessing). But bollide is an expert on these things.

    300CE knowledge please

W124 coupes sure are expensive in OZ. Might be worth investigating importing one from the UK or Ireland. As a side note, note the picture for thisw124 estate - must have come from an 80's motor show. If i head back to oz i probably will import my w124 wagon as cant believe what they...

    Ripped OFF!!

To mercs enthusiasts the above would have immediately told me that the guy was not to be trusted. He knew manuals are the hardest to sell. I still think you could have done worst but you may want to check to see if the wiper motor has been replaced. That is a common fault and expensive to...

    New S-class Hit or miss?

My vote goes to the S class aswell. Will be interesting to see the hybrid version in 2008 to see what take mercedes does on that technology.

    A6

I think i would pass on the current E class as the new A6 offers the kind of automatic i would want. Tax is excessive in Ireland on anything over 2 litres and as the 2.0tdi has 140bhp linked with the CVT auto i think it would do the job perfectly. ( Read more ) Whilst i love my mercs i still...

Those FSI engines are great. Decent economy married with good performance.

    A6

Figure that if i was in the market for a new car with the following in mind; estate, diesel, automatic, fuel economoy - i would probably go for this. A6 2.0TDI- most cost effective automatic saloons in the sector.
