Ok. I’ve found them now. One is to the front of the right hand front wheel and the other is located to the top of the rear left wheel.

can someone tell me where I can find the headlight level sensors on the front and rear axles of my 2010 e class convertible. I have searched and am confused as to where exactly they are. At the moment, headlights appear too high so I suspect that the rear sensor may have failed.

Are you sure that the drainage channels are clear? There are very small drains running within the rubber seal on the front pillar. I checked mine were clear by pushing a narrow stiff wire down them. Before this I was getting the same problem with water dripping onto front of seat squab. Used...

Since having it fixed (software issue) I have not used it much. I find that I'd does not seem to make much difference up or down!

Update:- dipstick was not the only problem. Following on I was still getting occasional P0171 /P0174 codes. After full diagnosis found that there was a hole in the pipe serving the purge valve which was only obvious when purge valve was open.

Solved. It was the O ring on dipstick.

Think I have solved the P0171 P0174 codes with a new O ring on the dipstick.

If you have a current warranty then I guess it would be. I would certainly expect it to be covered.

It would have been a main dealer in Bristol. I did not get involved in the details as I was buying the car and it had to be sorted before I parted with the money. However I understand it was software specific to the air cap / hood. The Bristol dealer seemed to know about the problem.

Mine needed a software update / reboot to be undertaken by main dealer to sort out.....apparently £90 cost (I was not paying). I gather faulty software is a common issue.

Does anyone have any model specific pointers as to what to look for on a 2010 E350 petrol throwing P0171 & P0174 codes? I am assuming an air leak is the most obvious fault? I can see nothing obvious but it is difficult to look at the back of the engine.

Another update. After further testing, and some prompting, main dealer has now found out that the mechanism was not at fault and that the problem lay with the software. They replaced the software and now the Aircap work perfectly.

I have now been told that something has failed and that parts need to be ordered for repairs by main dealer. I have also found out that a friend experienced a similar problem with the Aircap on his car and it cost him £1,200 to get it sorted.

Are problems with aircap common? I am looking to buy an E350 Cab. At present the aircap won't operate and the dealer has to sort this out before I complete the purchase. Is it just a software issue or is there something mechanical at fault?
