    Fl a45 amg

Well she's here :thumb: arrived a week ago and now I'm just crawling my way through the thousand mile running in period :wallbash: I am however over 700 miles in so not much longer to go and then I can officially drive it like I'm meant to haha

    A45 AMG Version III?

No S model. They only facelifted so early to put it back ahead of the RS3 but the "S" was always rumours and Merc have confirmed that they are at the limits of what the engine can offer so the next time round it will be a whole new engine so it's likely to be with us now until the end of this...

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

LMAO exactly. I have this week on several occasions been reminded of exactly why I gave up posting on this forum. Too many sarcastic idiots with smug comments. I have been in the motor trade for the past 12 years and not as a retail dealership monkey so I do have a level of expertise and...

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

what? That's correct... If they lose £2k per car x ten cars = £20,000 total, the customer gets a better deal all so they can hit their volume target which will then reimburse them the losses plus additional money which is the whole point in why they do it but they technically are selling the...

What do you want to know?

    Already looked LMAO doesn't seem to be showing anything: 17605220-GB0 - Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC Colour 191 - Cosmos Black Interior 855 - Leather Sahara beige / black Factory Option Codes 05B - Owner's Manual and Service Booklet - English 06U - Communications module...

What do you want to know?

I thought the same but the more I look at it... the more I want the red and not black haha. I think the brochure is most likely to be correct though and the configurator wrong but I quite like this :o

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

You may joke but many dealers do lose money on deals. They typically have volume targets where they have to sell x of each model in the range. If they hit their overall volume target they get a kickback from the manufacturer at year end for each vehicle sold. If however they miss this target...

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

Long story short... Decide on the following. Do you want to own the vehicle at the end of the term or hand it back? Once you've decided you can then add up the relevant payments in question, cheapest overall wins. Simple. No need to worry yourself with the other shizzle (within reason)...

    Well... well... well....

Wow... There's a bit of a gap in my car history here. Just revitalising the worlds oldest thread LMAO. I think there's 4 or 5 cars to add since here. I'll update when I have the time.

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

Haha I was only teasing. In terms of discounts etc, it depends on many many factors and not all are to try and fleece customers. Notice I say not all? LMAO what I mean by this is there's a few schools of thought. People do not in any way shape or form have a f*cking clue how interest rates...

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

Not strictly correct and this is the frustrating thing. It's retail awareness that is lacking. What I mean by this is if a car is £20k to buy and worth £10k when you come to sell it after x months, it makes no difference whatsoever to the used value of that car how it was funded. Whether on a...

    BMW Car Dealership, Not interested??

I dealt with Edinburgh Mercedes for some time for fleet cars. They had some cracking deals and Usman was a fast worker, if it was stock and ready to roll, fantastic. However if it was a factory order they were horrific and the support admin were rude, we received constant lies, deceit and ****...

    BMW Car Dealership, Not interested??

For this exact reason I rarely buy a car face to face, I always just deal over the phone and email because the treatment is disgusting otherwise. It makes you wonder how these retail cretins ever sell anything. I'll never forget buying my RS4. Because I was 21 at the time they turned their...

What do you want to know?

Here's one I want to know... I have an A45 AMG on order with an exclusive pack in sahara beige/black. The configurator shows red seat belts but the brochure states black. When I try to remove the red seat belts on the configurator it says it can't be done without removing the exclusive pack...

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

Don't trust me then... car salesman, buy my cars on PCP (I don't lease because I change car too frequently). I have the cash available to pay the car off outright but it works harder for me on the stock market hence the finance. Am I an exception? lol

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

That's an old wives tale. Reputable lease funders are members of the BVRLA and have realistic fair wear and tear allowances: Fair Wear and Tear guides | BVRLA

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

It depends on the model and the terms of the deal but from what I can gather, through experience I would like to assume being a 37 month term rather than 36 suggests it's on a PCP basis so it sounds a fair deal if it's a reasonable spec and based on a decent annual mileage ie 10k p/a or more

Leasing, PCP etc vs outright purchase

Dryce - ref contract hire I was with you right up until the point you mentioned the but. I personally have been in the trade for the past 11 years now and this is my forte. As such I don't agree with that because ultimately cost options are essentially dead money irrelevant of how you fund it...

    Do you get strange looks?

Yes and I always have! I actually got a lot of aggro from people on this very forum back in the day haha. I bought a new W203 Sport Edition C class when I was 18 and used to get the "does daddy know you're driving his car?" comments quite frequently and interestingly other C class drivers used...
