I was mulling over moving up to an R231 SL500 but this new model seems to have stalled the market for the 2013-2015 cars, for example local dealer Tim Purslow has had three R231 Sl500s on sale for several months now. Maybe the demand is either for the 400 or the 63, the 500 in no man's land...

Nevertheless useful, it is embarrassing being halfway through lowering/raising the roof when the lights change and you can't move! Where is the advert?

I have had my 2007 SL500 with the 5.5 engine for a year now and done 7800 miles at an average of 23.5 mpg according to the computer. And not a single thing has gone wrong with it!

Averaging 32mpg for the E320cdi and 24mpg for the SL500.

My first company car was a Metro 1.0HLE (I think) which came with a can of oil and set of jump leads in the boot both of which were essential.

Sounds like real hide to me although the leather in my E320 is hard, tough, odourless stuff whereas in the SL it is soft and supple and smells nice.

Agree, what's the point of it on the side, it's not an Alfa spider!

I just filled in the details for my SL500 out of interest and it came back with £1252 for a B service. Will stick with my indie!
