Well, in the end the windows just sorted themselves out with no intervention from me. Using the car daily and no problems over the last week.

And now the passenger window just went down twice on its own, a few inches each time. That's really thrown me as I thought each door had its own module.

Strange one this. The drivers window on my CLK conv will move on its own, seemingly quite random. It mainly goes down, sometimes in steps, sometimes all the way. It has occassionaly moved up too. After driving, it can happen at stand still also. Moving the door can sometimes make it happen...

I had the same problem. Sometimes wouldn't happen for weeks, then became more frequent and I'd have to wait for the engine to cool before it could be restarted. Engine warning light eventually just stayed on too. Everyone said it would be the crankshaft sensor, and they were right. Got one...

Well I sourced an A 220 820 28 26 from good ol' eBay for a tenner. Fitted it, and the alarm works great, no more blown fuse no5, and the boot light works. Result! Thanks for your top advice Bo

Panic mode in this alarm system? As far as I,m aware this was never a function of the alarm. I think that "panic mode" was just me setting the alarm off somehow? No way have I been able to do it again Doh!

Thanks again for your help. Done it! Found the siren behind LHF fog light. Taking the whhel liner off certainly gave more access, but I reckon you could get enough access by just removing the cover between the bumper and the wheel arch. Mine took a T35 security bit. Disconnected the siren and...

Cheers for that. It'll save me taking half the car to bits. I'm sure I found that a few quick presses of the lock button on the fob triggers the indicators to flash constantly as if the alarm were going off. I'll try it again when I go out to the car just to make sure. Thanks for the info on...
