CLK convertible, would you have one ?

Clk500 the way to go Hi I've had mine for over two years, a 500 and it's been faultless. Really smooth to drive, and fast when you want it to be. I don't do much mileage so fuel costs don't bother me, 17mpg round town about 25 to 30 (if your very light footed) on a run. The roof needs...

Testing a 200K CLK Sport Convertible - advice?

Great car but check everything Hi My clk roof does leak after heavy rain, so check the carpets to see if they are damp. I get a cleaner and sealer for mine and do it twice a year in March and October. Well worth doing. As previously said check the roof a few times, it should also go up and...

    Is this CLK500 worth considering?

Clk500 amazing Hi I have a 2005 clk500 and I have to say in the two years I've owned it it's not given me any major issues. The tyres are expensive and it only does 17 mpg around town, but I accept that and enjoy the V8 power and noise. From what I've read the m113 engine is very reliable...

If you had £8k or so to spend on a car ...

How about? I've had an RX8, be very careful if you go for one of those, great to drive, but a pain to own. For ever checking the oil and they have issues when starting from cold, you have to let them warm up before you can turn it off again! I now have a CLK500, and it's a great car, so...

need advice on which clk to buy

I have a 209 clk500 and it's great. I've had no issues engine or gearbox, it does like tyres so factor this in. I get around 17 mpg round town, the best I've got on a run is about 28, did see 30 but that was down hill! If you don't do a huge mileage then the v8 is defiantly worth it.

    Considering selling the ML

Hi I have an 05 plate clk500, owned it just over a year and its brilliant. Not sure what your mpg is on the ML but I get around 16 round town and 25 on a run, but I have only done just over 3,000 between mots so I'm not worried about it, but if I was doing higher mileage it would cost a...

    Thinking of buying a CLK

I have had my CLK500 for nearly a year now, and its been amazing. only a few issues, a new front parking sensor and airbag light needing a new cable under the seat. And of course new rear tyres! The V8 is lovely, smooth and very powerful. You have to be aware of the fuel costs with the V8's I...

Thinking of buying a CLK - any advice welcome

Don't forget the 500, if you don't do much mileage they are great. I love driving mine and use it every day. Get around 17-20mpg round town, had 29 on a run last Sunday, although that was a at a steady 65 to 70. The 5:00 v8 is a gem, and goes like stink if you want to.

Got me an E220.....Jury is still out....

I agree not much else can better a Subaru, mine was the wagon with the performance pack on it so had around 260 bhp, great car, but as you say everyone seemed to get one. Moved onto a Mazda rx8 , ok if you like to scream the engine, no torque at all so it had to be kept spinning. Liked its...

    CLK Water getting in

I agree with the soft top seals not being able to cope with heavy rain, with the drips on the head! I spoke to my local MB dealer, Hughes of Aylesbury, who were excellent, who suggested cleaning the roof and then putting a sealer on it. Have done this and has reduced the drips, not eliminated...

    New clk500 owner

I did post a help message re a leaky roof yesterday, but thought I would say hello in the correct place. This is my first MB purchase and I used this site to research the clk500 before I took the plunge, it really helped so thanks. I was looking between the clk55 or 500 but my budget...

Hello and help all in the same message!

Spoke to MB in Aylesbury and they suggested giving the roof another massive scrub with either their cleaner or the autoglym roof cleaner. I did this tonight and it may be too soon to tell but it did seem a bit better, although perhaps I am just being hopefully, we shall see how it goes!
