s212 self levelling rear suspension too high

Yesterday I had to scrabble about in the boot a bit to put the parcel cover back in. Today I nipped out to the shops and on the way back I get a 'car raising, please wait' message and the rear end got very bouncy. The rear self levelling suspension has gone full monster truck! Any thoughts on...

    Snetterton 21 April

Anyone else going to the track day on Easter Mon? I'll be there very gingerly testing the limits of the MX5, and Mrs BSE has agreed to come along with me.

    Interesting CLS

Just saw this in Trafalgar Square (wasn't quick enough to get a picture of my own. http://forums.finalgear.com/vehicle-sighting-photos/a-four-door-mercedes-cls-convertible-26945/page-2/ Very, er, striking. Monster exhausts, do you think it's a diesel? Anyone seen it before?

    Old vs (fairly) new

Saw this very nice 1985 S123 parked up next to mine at the weekend. Most likely a bit rusty in places and seemed to be sitting rather low at the back, but in a rose tinted way did look rather more special than the newer car - loved the red hubcaps! Difference in size is pretty striking too.

    Weekend fun car dilemma

Hello everyone Apologies in advance for long post! I have managed to get provisional authorisation to trade in SWMBO's car, which is not getting very much use, and get myself something as a weekend toy. With a bit of a cash top up my budget is around £8,000 and the criteria are: - Manual...

    Book a Track

Bout to press the button on a track day including caterham car hire with this company (at Donington park) and wondered if anyone had any relevant prior experience. I am a total track novice so my priority is to get some decent guidance and plenty of track time to practice.

    Chris Harris drives a P1

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=23&t=1378011&nmt=RE%3A+McLaren+P1%3A+Driven#topicTop Very good write up after JC's review on Sunday. Quite like the fact PH appear to have no sub editors, proofreaders, etc. - you get the full length, breathless excitement of the first draft which...

    Warrranty extension

It seems to have come round very quickly but the warranty on my car will expire at the beginning of next month. I've been contacted about extending the warranty, and my initial feeling is that I would rather take the risk and cost if something goes wrong. My question to the floor is whether not...

    Pink S500

"Bought as present for my wife but it is unwanted" - wonder why? PMSL. Apparently that paint job cost £4,000. Sorry if already brought to the group's attention - haven't seen a thread on this one http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201312200636512?atmobcid=soc3

    Brazil

Currently in Brazil with work, and while they have a lot going for them here that we would envy, the car situation is just terrible and makes you realise how lucky we are with the selection and prices of vehicles in the UK. Cars which in the UK are bargain basement (certain Chevrolet models...

    Thorough inspection before warranty expires

The warranty on my car runs out in February and I suspect in January and February I will be too busy at work to spend much time on it. So I have been hoping someone could give it a really good shake and see if there is anything that might need doing under warranty. Just sent it in to MB...

    Interesting article on Autobahns

Including where to go to find the faster stretches and some of the debate about derestricted highways (with a US slant) http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-18/go-east-370-hp-bmws-find-thrills-on-fast-german-autobahn.html

    Engine noise

Noticed over the weekend more than usual engine noise under load. Didn't sound 'wrong' just a bit more intrusive than usual. Wasn't sure if it was just a quieter than usual road surface reducing tyre noise that normally drowns out the engine, but is there anything I should be checking if more...

A smart repair guy is coming over tomorrow to see to a few minor trolley dings and the like that have appeared on the car. I will be out and the au pair girl will be at home to deal with them. Got home late from work and was very tickled by these highly accurate diagrams my wife has prepared to...

    Big day

Here is the family bus all glammed up for my sister's wedding today - my debut as a chauffeur! A great day and so happy for the couple. Definite advantage having an estate as the wedding limo as it also hauled substantial amounts of champagne to the reception afterwards!
