Bit the bullet and ordered a non bonding set of new ribbons from akspeedo for the pixel repair. On-line instructions are OK, got the Temp gauge to work at second attempt as I wasn't quite lined up on the LCD. Clock took three goes as it is more fiddly and I did not mark where the old ribbon was...

I have discovered a patch of something on the drive underneath the engine on my 320 CLK all of sudden. Fluid drips are clear,a very light oil? and patch looks a bit rainbow in the wet. Does not look like engine oil though, any ideas? Thanks.:eek:

I had a Scenic that snapped a spring reversing out of the car park, spring ripped out the passenger tyre side wall :eek:, pleased I was only travelling slowly. Had snapped springs on Granada (few years ago) and a Punto and Fiesta in the last 4 years. And the CLK has suffered with them prior...

?OK, can see 2 cross head machine screws on either side and a dome head something in the centre of the boot handle. Screws easy (well not, having to use a drill and extractor on one) whats the metal dome head thing? Ta.:o
