Wife got a brand new car yesterday, hit by flying wheelie bin today ......

Fwiw I have a "sort of related" anecdote, albeit not as impressive as above. Back in the 70's fuel crisis, it suddenly became popular for people to look for fuel efficient transport options. My mother had been a St Thomas's trained nurse, and during her time as a student there had whizzed...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Even more new jokes... (No UK Politics please)

Not quite mate.... Now if you'd ever met me Chris, you realise why I am actually frequently described as "really trying"... 😡 .... And besides, whilst I would argue that those certified Aliens who ride MotoGP aren't probably even trying as they gracefully drift their elbows over the tarmac, I...

Even more new jokes... (No UK Politics please)

Fwiw I wouldn't even answer that question.! I'd simply send a picture I took from a trackday in response.:

    2006 Rear seats

If it is a base model (like mine), then there are no supplied anchoring points under the phenolic coated plywood. I know this, because I removed my floor base when I first purchased my van and checked over the entire floor. Having said that, I have a bench seat with 3x seatbelts which I've...

Mercedes shuns a return to physical buttons

Despite the tightening up of the rules, using hand held phones still seems shockingly prolific. I personally see the practice numerous times, more than once every day.! What really baffles me, is that a large proportion of those guilty are driving cars that are high end/newer models that almost...

    New old car

Fwiw I don't believe I (or anyone else for that matter) ridiculed the OP. You can see that was my first post in this this thread. I personally wouldn't choose to deflate a new member's enthusiasm for their new Mercedes.,,,, ,,, However.... The point I was making was that his knee-jerk...

    Dashboard Gone Wild with Warnings

    Biggest Car Engines

Fwiw amongst my stable I still have a 1996 (the Matt Silver finish one) Rs250 with only 8k miles under it's belt.

    New old car

Imho one of the biggest benefits of this forum is that the "core membership" seem perfectly able to laugh at themselves, and are open to listening to & exploring other's views* and opinions.? The www has plenty of places for braggants seeking sycophancy. Perhaps there is an mbclub.usa that he...

    Freezing on inside of windscreen

If ^ that's in order to sustain the mice population, so their combined bodyheat prevents the interior screen being cool enough to freeze, it may prove to be be counterproductive.? (Oh Rats)

    Oh rats

What I found most fascinating, is that in the video the mouse seemed aware that he was being watched from the camera - Insomuch as he kept pausing to stare directly at the camera every now and again ( as if to gauge whether what was watching him presented an immediate threat or not). 🤔 Or...

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

I realise this isn't as exotic as most of the cars we spot, but I saw this earlier today & just had to stop & take a pic' of it for you lot. When I returned to my own car, Mrs StM informed me that her father apparently had a creamy-beige coloured one as his last car, and that it was his pride &...

Have all motoring manufactures given up on SAFTEY?

What possible harm could you be caused by stating the cause on this forum Boyband ? If there is a fundamental issue that you believe may effect others on here, isn't it only morally right that you make it known.??

    Sliding door handle?

I have a much earlier Vito, 2007 639. Fwiw the door operating system is (fairly) easily accessed when the inner door panel is removed on the 639. Furthermore the way that the handles engage on the 639 could enable precisely that fault to happen. Hth.

    Looking for a new vito

I think it is a SWB mate. I had to look twice, as it's not as immediately obvious as usual, but it looked shorter than my old bus. This one is a LWB, for your comparison Peter11thompson...

    Looking for a new vito

I have a Silver Vito 109 LWB 2007 just 240k miles that I could be persuaded to let go for within your budget...:p Seriously though, there seem to be a few coming on the market recently. If you keep a look out, I suspect a few more may start to be liquidated over the next couple of months...

    Interesting cars on your road

As with some other posts above, very few properties near. Fwiw the lad over the way has a Lamborghini. When I say "over the way", his farm is near the river about a mile across the fields that are actually front the other side of the lane I live on. Also the 7 litre Lamborghini he drives is, of...
