Forget MBUK. Your contract of sale is with the dealer. Write a letter to the dealer and finance company (if it's on finance) and reject the car under the Sale of Goods Act. Dealer will do all the work with MBUK. We didn't end up rejecting as they offered a very attractive "goodwill gesture"...

I don't know about 130mph, :p but ours definitely sounds sweeter - less diesel-y, if you know what I mean - since the injectors have been changed.

Update on the rejection of my C250CDI that broke down 2 weeks ago. MBUK (via my dealer) have come back with a generous financial compensation offer if we keep the car. Will pick it up later today. Fingers crossed it doesn't recurr or I'll be in a very strong position to reject. :thumb:

Miraculously injectors have turned up and car is fixed. Failed on 30 March 2010. Well, well, well - it's amazing what a few nasty letters can achieve. It's caught me "on the hop" a bit. Was expecting 3-4 weeks wait for the car to be fixed. Not sure whether to accept car back or continue...

I suspect this is because people are increasingly rejecting cars after they've failed. By pre-empting the failure, the customer doesn't get opportunity to reject. MBUK are in a right old pickle with this.

As reported in another thread, failed at just over 5,000 miles. Engine management light and sudden loss of power.

It is everything to do with MB UK if the car is financed on Mercedes Agility. In that situation, the dealer sold the car to MB UK and the legal relationship is directly between you and MB UK.

I did a 100 mile run from Nottingham to North Yorkshire yesterday and got 49mpg easy. Cruising around 70mph up the M1/A1. Bits of 50mph through road works. Mines an auto too. Considering the best I got out my Mondeo 115 TDCi was 56mpg for the same route, I'm more than happy with that. I think...
