    S205 C63 Buying Advice

I personally went with a PP car, but non-S. In my opinion, it had loads of power anyway and didn't miss the extra HP from the S - it still makes the same noise (I know there are other differences too, mind!). I loved the pano roof in particular, the Burmester I always thought was only okay...

    Two C63s - w204 v w205 (Two Years With Each)

I agree with you OP, pretty much on every point. Like you I had both the W204 and 205 for around 2 years. The W204 was an absolute hoot and got quite a lot of attention (Palladium silver too - fantastic colour). The 205 was more usable, more of the time and doesn't lose much of the theatre...

C Class Coupe - which roof bars?

Ah, that makes sense - you're right, they don't do the flush bars for the coupe - has to be the through ones. This is what they look like attached - I think the coupe ones are 108cm long, rather than the 118cm below. I don't like keeping them on the car when not needed as a) they make a bit...

C Class Coupe - which roof bars?

Are you sure that Thule don't do bars? Looking on the Thule site, and on roofbox.co.uk (where I got mine from) there are several options for the Coupe. I used a Thule set on my estate; they were the standard square bar, but other options such as the Wingbar are available.

Recommend a gap insurance company please

Another vote for ALA, used them several times - very competitive.

    Winter Wheels and Tyres

I've had some good success with Pirelli Sottozero tyres - they got me to where I needed in really wintry conditions. As for places to buy complete sets, a couple immediately spring to mind (no affiliation with any, but the set I bought was from eBay which have been fine). It also depends if...

First Merc after 25yrs of M cars

Welcome. I like the colour of that - a lot, I'd look for just the same. Lovely looking thing, and the C43 is a great all-rounder, especially with the climate in this country.

    W205 C63 Winter tyre sizes

I think if you put in “c63 18 saloon estate winter wheels tyres” it’ll come up at the top of the list (you’ll see the resemblance to my username here). I don’t know if you have a saloon, estate or coupe - it’ll only fit the first two variants for sure (I have an estate, and used them on that).

    W205 C63 Winter tyre sizes

I do have an eBay link, but I think forum rules prohibit me posting it in this section (and I don’t have 30 posts yet to put it in the “for sale” section). If any of the mods have a suggestion on how we could maybe help each other out here... :)

    W205 C63 Winter tyre sizes

OEM sizes for 18s are 245/40/18 front, 265/40/18 rear. (I’ve got a 18 inch winter wheel and tyre set for sale as it happens.)

    Performance exhaust vs sport+ exhaust

Performance exhaust is louder in Sport+ mode. I believe there is a cross-pipe valve on the standard exhaust (also on the performance) that produces different effects, but the performance exhaust has extra flaps at the tail end of the exhaust to bypass the final muffler, resulting in a deeper...

Very similar to mine. They are epic cars, you'll love it. Congratulations!

    What would you choose?

If it's the CLS63 you want, get it. I've bought cars in the past when it wasn't ultimately what I really wanted, and regretted it over the original preference. If you bought the E, would you lust after the CLS? If you bought the CLS, would you lust after the E? Life's too short.

    Ex Mercedes Management cars

I had an ex MB "management" car that I ran for two years. No issues with it at all - one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. If cosmetically it checks out, and the price good - I'd be on it. Only if there were obvious signs of abuse would I walk away.

    Keyless go option ?

Correct, but the C63 didn't have a Premium Plus pack unlike other models in the lineup (at least in this era), so it's part of the Premium pack.

    Keyless go option ?

Keyless Go is part of the premium package (alongside Burmester sound, LED intelligent lighting and sunroof).

W204 C63 Full non dealer history opinions....?

If it were me, for a car over 4-5 years old, I would save the £££ and get a good indy to do it. Enthusiasts love to see lots of receipts. Given a choice between a fully dealer serviced car or a good indy that had done it according to manufacturers schedule (with receipts as evidence), it...

    Newbie - C63 Saloon

I can't help with the Tidal subscription, but the wheels look like the same as I have - the 18" 10-spoke design; I don't think there's a special name for them. Great looking motor you have there - I really like the facelift design :)

    Which exhaust?

Most of the C63S have the switchable exhaust, but it's not standard, according to the brochure. :( It appears to be for the new facelift - but doesn't help in this case of course.

Disappointed with my car. Respect to the 335d!

I had up until very recently a C63 and a 535d (same engine as 335d). Both offer relentless shove. But which one did I always take out just for a drive, for fun? Do I really need to give the answer..? The 35d doesn't reward in any way. It's very fast, but there's no sense of effort or drama...
