I love commuting...........on my CBR600 :D I leave the mrs to get snarled up in traffic on the school run while I travel in the motorbike lane (indicated by white lines in the middle of the road ;)) I only drive at the weekend, when the roads tend to be much quieter.

I'm sure that the official line is that the gearbox oli never needs replacing as its a sealed unit. I might be wrong though, or it might be a different gearbox in the C32

Cheers mate, Yeah, I'm holding my breath too! Just done about 40 miles this afty and no problems so far. They said it was showing 2 error codes, one on the MAF and one on the gearbox ecu. They replaced the MAF and cleared the codes (he reckoned that a malfunctioning MAF can trigger an error...

Well one MAF replacement and £520 later(!) and the car seems to be fixed by MB. Going to take it for a long test drive now to be a bit more certain but the drive back from the garage was fine.

Cheers guys, just had a chat with IBW (124works) who has made me feel a lot better - top bloke:) Looks like I'll be taking it over to him once MB have done their initial checks today, and hopefully the w202 will live on!

Just dropped it off at Harrogate MB. Doesnt sound promising according to the servcie manager. He says that they dont really have much in the way of diagnotics on these models so its a case of trial and error. They are doing an inspection today at £100 but he's not hopeful that will provise...

Cant say many people move over for my C Class, but then again I make a point of not being the fastest car on the motorway - I'll happily do 95+ as long as other cars are, but dont like standing out to a copper in a hidden verge! The bike on the other hand - since I fitted my race pipe most cars...

hah, that made me chuckle. Same with my wife - I was talking about kickdown the other day - she had no idea what I was talking about as she wouldnt dream of pressing the acclerator to the floor and has therefore never experienced it!

Out of interest, has anyone tried these cheap aftermarket MAF's? I've thought of buying one just as a spare because they are almost a consumable on W202's but dont want to waste my money if they are inferior.

CBR600 here. Bit of a classic (read: old) but provides me with 100bhp of of fun and starts on the button first time come rain or shine :)

Hi Guys, Well I've given up on my W202 C200. One niggly problem after another, cuminating in a trip over the M62 the other week when plumes of smoke/steam where seen coming out of the back of the car and it wouldnt accelerate past 60 and the temp guage started dropping. Thought it must be HGF...
