Are you reckoning that the copper slip was pushed into the void and the pressure burst the alloy? (rather than the threads by being lubed not being able to attain the required torque before fatiguing - which I had assumed)

Hi there, we have an 07 320 cdi V6 engine which I believe is supposed to have the same basic engine and updates so hopefully yours won't have the earlier brake set up or radiator woes. Someone will be along shortly with the specifics but it might be worth checking on any stored fault codes...

Garage it. Get someone to carefully jack it up to take the weight off the tyres. Put some extra air in the tyres. Battery on a battery tender. (disconnected, and hopefully away from car) Oil and filter change on return.

259 hp and 566nm claimed for the V6 engine with similar curves on the graph. Might be worth a try as they have a dealer not too far from me.
