I was thinking of renewing the o/s driveshaft on my 2006 w203 220cdi. looking around i am under the impression it is a dealer part only. MB want £750 . So thats a no go, tbh its the outer part that goes through the wheel hub that i am mainly after, the one on my car has previously been deformed...

Just checked out Msl that would be where I would take it. Car is a 2006 sport edition engine code 646. I am used to driving petrol v6s but this car was too nice to pass up.

Hi amgeed. I aren't going down the route of bigger turbo and the like. Just a sensible remap and when the old exhaust need replacing to get one made up with sports cat. I guess about 30 extra hp and 50 ft-lb torque would be more than enough. The brakes are from factory Merc range twin piston...

so i have had my c220 cdi for a few months now and it is all serviced and up to date. in the near future brembo calipers and 330 discs will go on. then i might look at a little extra oomph, not a huge amount just a bit extra. obviously a remap comes to mind ... any advice on that would be great...

I am new to w203 ownership and was wondering if w203 s had similar coil spring pads to w202 s so you can adjust the ride height. the rear spring seat looks the same but not sure about the front as its a strut set up ? i ask because i just want to tweak the ride height a little. car is a 2006...

ouch ... was quoted inbetween £ 500 / 600 . looks like i will do it. run it for a week then drain the pan again.

its pretty much due a gearbox service now its at 78,000. might see how much it is at the dealer as i would only be able to drain the pan.

i am inbetween huddersfield and leeds, so a good indy would be useful. although i try to do as much work as i can before using a garage.

that is a interesting cheers zipdip. despite the bad weather i managed to start thoroughly checking it over. its a one owner from new and you can tell. i think the only jobs i want to do are engine oil and gearbox service. appretiate the help thank you.

well good news mb huddersfield called me back and it hasnt got one. it does have a cat. i did think it had one because some of the receipts from mb wakefield have c220cdi dp filter on the paper work. why did you doubt it mersum 1 es ?

no it doesnt sound daft, fluid is correct and got it from the mb dealer in huddersfield. although when i was at the dealers today said fault was mentioned and he said not enough fluid might cause such a fault. so too much fluid might do it aswell. i have a gbox dipstick. think it might have too...

yes i did consider those, but ruled them out as it only judders when the car is cold / stood overnight

Hi, my car is a 202 v6 auto. from cold car starts fine runs very smooth, but when i engage drive it judders/vibrates when stood still. as soon as i set off its ok. only does this for a few minutes. gear box fluid and filter change has made no difference. any ideas anyone ?

does anyone know the size of the hollow bolt that sits in the bottom of the oil filter housing on a 1998 c280 v6. you undo this to remove the oil filter housing to replace the housing gasket underneath it. its in for its mot soon so am trying to sort out a minor oil leak. cheers in advance.

hi, yes i took my old c240 aprt to see what was what and it indeed looked like it was the plate with the allen key bolt in it. the one from my c240 was in much better shape so i used that. will go to the dealers tomorrow and get all the seals and keep them for when i do the oil change. thanks...

Hi, my w202 v6 has an oil leak which appears to be getting worse. it looks to be coming from just under the oil cooler at the front of the engine. a little plate held in place by 2 bolts. is this a common area to leak and is there a gasket or o ring ? thanks, matthew
