    Back to a black car

Nice! I would suggest using a tar remover on a microfibre or two for the lower doors, sills, rear bumper and bootlid. Something like Gtechniq W7 is great. It sounds like you are using too much product as Super resin should just be a light film on the paintwork, not white. A dampened cellulose...

    Clay bar or not

Definitely not every wash, once or maybe twice a year, dependent on what protection your car has, car usage etc - too many variables to say you need to do it x amount of times. cheers, Chris

    Clay bar or not

I'd never clay a car unless I'm going to be machine polishing it afterwards. You will inflict clay marring - where the clay surface picks up hard contaminants and you rub it across the paint. Now if your car was a few years old and had lots of swirls etc then you may not notice the clay marring...

Polish then wax or wax then polish?

Gtechniq C1 would be a good starter coating. However you are effectively locking in what ever finish the car's paint has which is why myself and many other detailer's will only apply a coating to a machine polished surface with minimal defects. cheers, Chris

Black alloys, standard alloy wheel cleaner?

As above, plenty of choice now, no need to buy an acidic cleaner such is the performance of non-acidic products. Bilt Hamber Autowheel and Dooka Bleed are good if you are looking for a fallout type product, Detailed Online Acid free cleaner for a general cleaner or Autosmart SmartWheels if you...

Wheel polishing Cones or speed balls

I think you can over complicate it by having too much choice. I have the above brush, wheel mitt, pastry brush for around the wheel bolts and a bullet brush for wheels that have never been cleaned. If you roll the car forward half a wheel turn after initial wash you'll see all the bits that you...

Wheel polishing Cones or speed balls

You should only need shampoo to wash them, depending on how many miles you do and how often you wash the car you may need to hit them with a dedicated wheel cleaner or fallout remover occasionally. A Daytona brush and a Dooka mitt should be all you need - Natural Sheepskin Wheel Mitt | dooka...

    Snow foam lance

It has its place...in certain scenario's (but not every wash) for me these are - During summer if I have pre-soaked bugs with a citrus product and/or lower doors/sills covered in cow S%^t that have been pre-soaked, putting snowfoam over the top enhances the dwell time of the initial products...

    Recommended Water Spot Remover?

As above, try some vinegar on a microfibre cloth. If that doesn't work a paint cleanser like Autoglym Super Resin polish should do the trick. Cheers, Chris

    Freshly detailed.....

Looks superb, I liked it on TK's instagram feed but didn't realise it was someone from here. I'd suggest a specific filter that you can leave in the garage, but it would be interesting to see how good the home softener is by way of using a TDS meter. The Aquagleam inline filters are ok but...

Flaky clear spots on new car (black)

Sorry to thread hijack OP! Yes I've experienced this four times - a black Honda, black Tesla, black Aston Martin and a red Lotus. The first three have stupidly soft clear-coats and I guess had gone through numerous heat cycles of the panels heating up, cooling down..starting with the least...

    New car detailing

As it is a company car I wouldn't want to spend any more time or money than is necessary to keep it looking good and with some form of protection to help make washing that much more efficient. As most paint defects - swirls/marring etc are inflicted at the washing and drying parts of the...

Flaky clear spots on new car (black)

Please don't use T-cut, it is a surprisingly aggressive polish and the car could potentially look worse than when you started. Machine polishing would be absolutely fine, age of car is irrelevant. It doesn't even need to be white vinegar, just pour whatever vinegar you have in the house on a...
