    Acf 50?

I've used this stuff on my motorcycles in the past but it is great for radiator cores and engine partsalso. It seems to kill the corrosion. Keep it well clear of brakes and drive belts though! The 7 pin towing plugs can be sprayed with it too. I used to have to change mine evry year when I...

    Wash Leather vs. Microfibre?

I've always been a washleather man but SWMBO came home with some of these microfibre thingamajigs. The dry weather had shredded my trusty (or not) leather so the new fangled microfibre was used. I have to say that at first I was not impressed as it appeared to leave drops on the surface. My...

    Corrosion Years?

Thanks for the responses. I will be looking very carefully then. I've seen some quite low mileage cars going very cheap due to flaking arches, sills etc. They didn't look as if they were rusted through from the inside but more like surface rust. Mike

    Plate transfer question

The hard part is sorting the insurances so that the same plate no. is on two cars at the same time (ie. not strictly possible so you need to speak to the insurance company to sort out two cover notes for each car) PITA actually but do-able. Mike

    Rover!

I usually drive our second car ( a practical classic!) and leave the most reliable vehicle for my good lady. I previously had an '89 Rover 214 SEI which I bought from an elderly neighbour with 28K miles on it. I ran it to 88K and had to sell it when i needed a wheelchair vehicle to transport...

As a DIY'er, If I were looking for a good, used (older) MB, should I go for a manual or auto in terms of ease of maintenance. I've had autos in the past that have been a nightmare when they went wrong. Mike
