Small claims court - process advice

I have been through this process a couple of times. If he ignores it then he does not defend it and you automatically win the claim and judgement goes in your favour. Then you are able to contract bailiffs to enforce the judgement and recover the amount of your claim plus the bailiffs costs...

    Far far away…

Living in the far north of Scotland, almost every car I have bought has involved a 2 day trip. Its a risk but in my experience, each time has been worth it.

Second hand car sale and an unhappy new owner or attempted scam?

In law - caveat emptor "the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made."

Very poor practice by dealership - possibly my last Mercedes

The other issue with the diagnostic test is that unfortunately these days, the workshops at these dealers are full of people who are lacking the necessary mechanical skills, knowledge and experience to diagnose problems without the help of a computer. Unless the computer gives them the answer...

Very poor practice by dealership - possibly my last Mercedes

I have had my own experience with my local dealer and the "diagnostic check" when they were unable to diagnose a faulty air con compressor and this issue went on for an age. I ended up winning my battle with them, however, I did learn that the dealers hands are tied in some respects when it...

    W212 e220 number plate holder

From memory, when I had a W212 I replaced mine with these... https://eshop.wurth.co.uk/Product-categories/Unprinted-Klapp-Fix-number-plate-holder/31089502020205.cyid/3108.cgid/en/GB/GBP/?CatalogCategoryRef=31089502020205%40WuerthGroup-Wuerth-3108&SelectedFilterAttribut=%255B%255D I think the...

    Anyone been in this situation?......

UPDATE Following my email to the dealer regarding this, I received a cheque in the post about a week later reimbursing the full cost of the part, fitting and some compensation. I have to say that I was not expecting them to roll over so easily. It seems that sometimes its worth complaining to...

    W213 problem and customer services

Thats pretty poor service. In the past, as long as I have had a full MBSH they have always been willing to make a contribution. In an old W204 I had, the fold out powered screen died and it was about £1500 to replace. About 6 months out of warranty, they contributed 90% so its a little strange...

    [SOLD] CPLAY2air adapter

I have a CPLAY2air adapter for sale. New but I have connected it to my vehicle to test. This will convert a factory fitted carplay system to wireless. Please check your vehicle is compatible by visiting www.cplay2air.com and check the compatibility list. It works perfectly in my W213. Looking...

    Anyone been in this situation?......

Car was bought in Aug 20 from MB Huddersfield with an approved used warranty. But as it was bought during the pandemic I had it delivered. I received an offer of goodwill today from MB UK rather than the dealer who worked on the car. £180 in vouchers to spend at MB or John Lewis, both of which...

    Anyone been in this situation?......

I will pursue it and be a thorn in their side until one of us gives in. It cost me approx £600 to get fixed but theres also the travelling costs up and down the road to the dealer and my time, the dealer is 100 miles away. Coincidentally, MB customer services called me today (I had previously...

    Anyone been in this situation?......

Luckily I had sent a number of emails to the service manager at the dealership specifically stating what part the noise was coming from and on one occasion spoke to the diagnostics technician and pointed to the faulty part, yet they didnt attempt to even check it. I will try to get the money...

    Anyone been in this situation?......

Just wondering if anyone has had any success with this situation….. Scenario Car develops noise coming from engine area – car is under warranty. To replicate noise, drive car for a few miles, stop and park and wait – noise starts 100% of the time. Car goes to dealer to have this noise...

    Brake calliper cleaning

Yes, mine are the same, to be honest yours do look quite clean, better than mine, but long term I think the only option is painting them. When I do, I will get them done properly than attempt a DIY job myself.

    Brake calliper cleaning

If they are the same ones I have, they are cast aluminium and the dirty marks on them are in the cast itself and you cant clean them. Nothing will work, I gave up and will one day day get them painted.

    W205 C63 Cupholder cover won't stay closed

I dont know the answer but I suspect the lid is a standard part and the badge is stuck on. I think I have seen the badges for the lids on eBay, genuine ones, so must be stuck on surely.

    Paint chips

I tend to use the proper MB touch up paints. The colour match is ok on small chips.

    Paint chips

I think it came from Amazon but if you google it, there are plenty online. I dont remember how much I paid but it was about £10 or so. Its really good at putting tiny dots of paint on a stone chip but the hole is so small you might need to thin the paint to get it to flow and clean it out with...
