Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

Had a mobile fitter come out this morning to fit four Uniroyal Rain Experts The new tyres got a coating of Angelwax ceramic tyre coating. The wheels where cleaned last weekend, so this afternoon the stainless wheel trims got polished with Autosol and then sealed with Bilbury wheel was. Also...

Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

The leather has come up nicely, I would quite like to go over some of it with my old go to cleaner (Autoglym) just for comparison sake. But for now I am just getting the car ready for Mot and hopefully to use a bit before the depths of winter. Plastics where cleaned with turtle Wax interior...

Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

Once the 'Heaven for Leather' had done it's thing and was wiped down, the leather was treated with Angelwax Hide Rate. The almost sticky shine has gone, so have the darker bits. On the bits dried by U.V it seems to have become more pliable. I keep trying to add photos but it just keeps saying...

Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

The leather cleaner is sprayed on, agitated with a brush and then left to fizz away until dry. Then wiped with a damp cloth.

Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

This is the latest purchase. A 1987 Saab 900i that has spent the last month or so parked under a tree. I've given the outside a wash so far, and removed leaves and gawd knows what else from door and boot shuts. The leather has dirty shiny bits, dried out dusty bits and everything in-between...

Bought more Angel Wax stuff to try out.

After seeing H2Go on here and trying it for myself, I was left very impressed with the way it works and for how long it works. Decided to try some of their other products out. It's going to take a while as I have also bought a 35 year old car to try it out on!

    Bike racks

Ah ok so towing at the same time. I'd say the hanging rack option is the best then. What bikes are you expecting to carry? Non conventional frame builds can be problematic with through frame racks.

    Bike racks

If I'm carrying bikes on the back, I only trust the Thule racks that go on a towbar. Non tow bar racks I would look at Saris as among the best, however anything not on a towbar or the ones that go on a 4x4 spare wheel are a wobbly mess. Without a towbar will also be trickier to sort lights...

    The Platinum Jubilee

Went to a local cars & coffee that was also part of the village fair. I was surprised how much attention the old girl got, had quite a few people chatting about old MB's with us. Entertained some kids with the RC digger and the fire engine that squirts water was popular in the hot afternoon sun...

    New Michelin tire leaking air

You would not have to travel far like that to get the heat up. I wouldn't loose sleep over it, cross that bridge if you need too. Would be interesting to know if the valve is old or a new faulty one.

Brace yourselves, thinking of this. 🙂

Certainly looks fun. I've never had a bad experience with Honda motorbikes, always nicely built. My mum has an S2000 and NSX, both perform very well, year on year without problem.

    New Michelin tire leaking air

Maybe the bulge is an illusion unless it got very hot or pinched over a pothole. Hopefully a simple fix. I'm sure if there is a bulge they will make good with a new tyre.

    Far far away…

If it looks right and the dealer sounds right, go to it. Once you have inspected the car, you can always work out a plan even if it involves arranging the car to be transported to your home.

    New Michelin tire leaking air

Ah cool just seen your reply. They really should be sorting this out. I wouldn't mention you heard anything until actually driving.

    New Michelin tire leaking air

It would be nigh on impossible to damage the wheel with a tyre machine. I've only ever seen this happen once, breaking a bead on a 21" run flat low profile that suddenly released. Most likely, a problem with the valve. (Should be replaced every tyre change) Possibly corrosion that was ok but...

My detailing is no different from 30 years ago - am I foolishly behind the times?

A vast majority of drivers don't look back at the car when they leave it, and don't really seem to care much despite paying huge amounts of money for it. If a car is clean, it's clean. Swirls, dings and light scrapes go unnoticed. I'm not crazy fussy and some of the steps I see on this...

    SL65 AMG

Good excuse to dust off ye olde hardback Designo brochures. Im not convinced it is Chromaflair I. I believe the interior could possibly be Designo two tone Mauritius blue/Silver or Pastel.

    Reviving the C240

Well the other half has driven the 240 and decided she quite likes it. Roughly translated that means I have lost it, but I still get to clean it etc. Looking at it another way means it's time to start looking for another car, most likely from the 90's as the W203 was a generation newer than...

W203 1.8 as a budget daily driver, wise choice?

I would recommend finding the best 203 you can with the M112 V6 engine. Fuel economy aside, you won't go far wrong with an M112 or 113 in any Mercedes. They are capable of racking up BIG miles with absolutely no fuss. The 203 is a simple car, even high spec models. All the toys work in mine...
