Went out and got a haynes Manuel and it looks ok to do :) Jack up wheel off, arch lining out, floor pannel down, spanner to release the tension, Belt off, belt onre-tension and refit! Job done :) so I'm going to do it!

Yes it is. You don't get the same feeling as when you do things your self! Just want to know all I can before I try it. I serviced, replaced aux belt and fixed an alarm on my mums smart forfour on Saturday and it was a pice of pee to do, with only the alarm taking abit longer to sort out...

£60 was just labour.. Then part and vat. I was going to get it up on axle stands on Saturday to have a look but my mums car alarm went on one and had to fix it.

What bolts need to be undone to slacken the belt? And what tools? Thank you

I've been quoted £60-£70 but I think it's too much just for a belt to be fitted

Thanks I may have a go and pull the plug and let the siren battery runout. Hopefully the car will run. Do you know if its linked to the imoblizer?

I've not had the battery tested but it is fully green in the little hole (if you know what I mean)

Hi all Yesterday my alarm kept going off for no reason :( I had to keep the doors unlocked for a around 3 hrs then all was fine. This has happend around 6 times now. Anyone else had this happen? Thanks all

Had it looked at and there is no fuel leak! So don't know why I smelt fuel but as I said it was only once... Now I've done some motorway miles 200 miles for £30 @ £127.9 per ltr how do I work it out? Thanks
