    Wheel refurb in North west

I've just had my C63 alloys refurbed by Top Wheels in Morecambe. Came highly recommended (they deal with the local Porsche, BMW, Merc dealerships) Have to say, the satin black and diamond rim are excellent. Black wheel weights finish off the job nicely. Greg (owner) and his team are great to...

Has anyone tried 'Poor Boys' Car polish and 'Nutty wax' on their pride and joy?

Poorboys Blackhole Glaze and nutty wax combo used on this (back in 2004 I think). The 2 go well together Try Harly Wax - goes on like butter and the finish and protection is amazing https://www.amazon.co.uk/Car-Polish-Harly-Wax-Carnauba/dp/B004DPJQ44

(Non performance pack) W204 C63 pads and discs

I purchased front discs and pads (OEM) from MB Newcastle. £140 cheaper than my local MB dealer. As per OEM items, perfect fit with no messing. Much firmer than those they replaced (originals), (obviously) On another note, I've just ordered 10lts oil, filter and sump gasket from them - again...

ABS failure - safe to travel?

Just to offer an update... Bearing was fine, just the sensor. Had this changed and all codes cleared. Drives spot on once again. Sensor was £67 plus fitting etc. (I could have done this but as it was a pals garage, asked to fit) Hope you get the same/similar outcome 👍

    Caliper bleed nipple replacement

What Jason said... If they havent' been touched in a couple of years, the two metals hate each other. Mine snapped when replacing the brake fluid (service). It was the last one to be done as well (sods law) Tried to drill out but, the new nipple just wouldn't tighten enough for my satisfaction...

ABS failure - safe to travel?

I've had the exact same thing. The wheel bearing was on its way out and had buggered the ABS sensor (I'm advised these are linked) which lit up the dash. ESC, cruise, TMPS etc all disabled. Still drivable regardless. Had new front bearings and sensors fitted. Off to collect shortly so, unsure of...

    Cleaning The Engine.

Jumping on the bandwagon here... 1. Cover electrical bits n bobs (inc alternator) with some nice Asda carriers (other carriers are available) 2. Spray liberally with degreaser 3. Agitate with a brush 4. Pressure wash off 5. Wipe down with clean rags/paper towels 6. Remove bags 7. Spray with...

New owner C63 W204, first thoughts!

Car prices are crazy right now. Our local dealer refuses to be drawn in and has virtually no stock (from 60 - 80 cars usually) I think you'd be disapointed going frmo a 63 to an M4 personally. No character. This is just my opinion, of course Generally, and from experience... BMW drivers won't...

CLS 55 AMG vs R35 GTR

There is a noticable difference with the 3 models: The 1st was [CBA] Pearl white (2009), black edition (non nav - which wasn't available on the early cars). Nissan allowed all new owners a track day experience at Silverstone (food and crash helmet provided, of which I still have (helmet not...

New owner C63 W204, first thoughts!

I bought the M4 when 1st released. The colour combo I chose didn't suit it (Sakhir Orange) with black alloys. Grey would have been better. Interior didn't Wow me and...the audio system is such a faff to use. I'd travelled through 2 villages before I got to the album of choice. I also had a bit...

New owner C63 W204, first thoughts!

Saw your earlier thread - car looks well. A great choice Interesting, it has the diff and remap. The 2 things I am currently considering (had the car over 4 years now and feel it may need a 'tweak') Exhaust - I had the Milltek secondary cat insert fitted. Sounds way better than stock without...

CLS 55 AMG vs R35 GTR

Interesting read on the comparisons and thoughts of the AMG & GTR. I have both a w204 C63 (estate) - this being my daily driver and MY17 GTR (my 3rd - 2009, 2011, 2017) Both are nice in their own right and do have divided opinions with folk. I have the younger generation who are GTR all day...

    Caliper overhaul.

Replacment caliper on the W204 C63 was £355 [exchange] from MB if this helps (I had a snapped nipple which wouldn't repair) A mate had front calipers painted on his Beemer for £300 (to compare). That was just painting, not an overhaul of anything else.

    W204 C63 Dipstick... Discontinued?

In fairness to Fuzzly, back in the day I drove a Mates Ford Orion with a dodgy dipstick. Oil light shone its face at me on the M6 to Manchester...opened the bonnet and...Covered in the black stuff!! So...I can see why he would like an OEM replacement (I know, I know...Ford Orion vs C63 ;))
