Yeah, appologies, I have given up on the idea of bypassing it as I'm a really panicking this is going to be much more costly that first anticipated. I thought the keys could be reprogrammed? I have even seen so called procedures for doing so

So i was just on the phone to someone from merecedes, and apparently I must order one specific to my chassis number and may even need a new ECU. If this is the case why are people selling used ones on the Internet.

Ahh, I understand. Unfortunatley I feel this is probably above what I am willing to try. Last question, as my ignition module needs replaced, is it simply a matter of buying one form the breakers yard and reprogramming my keys once installed or is it more complicated than that? Thanks
