    Ceramic coating

I decided on Opti-Coat (coz I'm too lazy to wax and polish it ) but I had it professionally applied, because as others have said, your paintwork has to be prepared properly otherwise you're wasting your time and money. I don't know about pricing over there, but here it was AUD $650 Mine was...

    Door not locking/unlocking properly

Yep, that's the problem! I think the repair is a little out of my league, but the Temp fix is brilliant ! Many thanks. Roger.

    Door not locking/unlocking properly

Not sure if this is the correct section so Mods feel free to tell me or move it. Whenever I try to lock or unlock the doors the passenger side works fine, but the drivers side just locks and unlocks rapidly. Eventually doing what it's supposed to do. On a previous car (Ford Fairlane.) this...

Strange brackets on the header tank

Many thanks to grumpyoldgit and grober. The Turbo would be nice but the cabin heater is the last thing I'd need :) Roger.

Strange brackets on the header tank

Me too, but then I've always had a thing for Black Bra's

Window Tinting - a good thing?

Obviously you've never tried it. I don't know if it does either I just know that the tinted windows do keep the car cooler. Having driving around most of this country in all coloured cars and Semi's for the last 42 years, I can assure you that when it gets hot (>35c) insulation and air...

    Mercedes Comand - Alternatives?

Do you mean as in an aftermarket double din unit that will fit? If so, we replaced our Comand with an Alpine INE-W947E. 7" screen, Navigation all the bells and whistles including the reversing camera if you want one. Although, as I found out on this forum, the Comand controls the clock...

Window Tinting - a good thing?

I don't know about there, but out here it's done not to look cool, but to keep cool. :) This is 20% on the sides and back windows, and the radio aerial or rear window heating is not affected.

Why you shouldn't fit aftermarket HID kits

I'm glad to see that it's not only Orstraylian Car forums that have this Deba..... Argum.....Discussion :)

    Comand system and Clock

Seeing as my local service man charges $100 aud to hook up his laptop -which I assume is the STAR system- I'll go for the cheap option :) Many thanks to all. Roger.

    Comand system and Clock

Ah...would that be the same as an OBDII code reader ? Easy answer.... because this is 'her' car - I bought it... but it's hers! I get to drive the 230E - and she wanted a high end Alpine. (she paid for the Alpine though:))

    Comand system and Clock

4 months we bought a 2004 W209 CLK240 that had the original Factory radio fitted with the Comand system. According to the owners manual, this also controlled the analog clock in the dash. My problem is that now we have fitted an Alpine audio system the clock is still running one hour fast...
