Put my mind at ease, C63 reverse select

Good question and one that scares the **** out of me. I've reached for it a few times whilst braking for a left turn and almost jumped into the back seat! The selector should be same as the a45. Small leaver which is positively for the gears and not an indicator/window wash wipe stalk.

    C63 Prices...

I think once you are seated and comfy and you are listening to the exhaust note through open windows on a warm summer day( so that will be twice a year) you can forget the looks and just grin. When it's approaching 7,000 rpm the grin turns to a manic laugh. When it's doing that the only drawback...

    Search for next car

Seen some really nice low mileage 5.5 sl kompressers for around £20 k on 07 plates. If you can manage with 2 seats it would make an awesome car

    Who's got a new C63 saloon ?

Forget ride comfort with the 63 but the trade off for the rear end slide handling is more than worth it. The c class will feel more alive underneath you and a little sharper. As long as you can live with the less roomier feel I would say it's a good bet.

First world problem - seat conundrum

I've had both seats and prefer the standards. But I'm old and like the softer seat for my aching bones. Air scarf is fantastic.....cos my old neck bones love it

    C63 Prices...

The 6.2 v8 will always do well in resale because it's the end of the line for the naturally aspirated engine. When you loot at the performance what would you have to spend on something new to match it? If you can keep the mileage reasonable and service record good then I think they are good...

    Try again. Another c63

    M156 rebuild after bent conrod

Check the crank. I did one and the shock loading when it locked flattened the mains and big ends and threw the crank out of balance. Worth having it spun up and balanced.

    2011 C63 coupe potential purchase....

Good decision. Running a 63 on abudget(tyres prove it) is not an option. The only contact for 450 up is them. Loads of genuine ones about. Enjoy all the test drives. One will stand out. You'll know when you are onto a winner.

    Try again. Another c63

If there is any possible chance of owning a duffer, it will probably belong to me. Loads of luck, all bad.

    Try again. Another c63

Ha ha. The v 7 refers to the fact that Mercedes could not get the car to run on all 8 cylinders. 2nd one back on the right cylinder bank would never fire. It had new injector, coil pack, mass air flow sensor, plug and compression test. I gave up after 6 months and chopped it in.

    Try again. Another c63

Hi everyone, After having nothing but bad luck with my last 2 63s and trying Merc hybrids and an s class in between,I am picking up a new c63 premium next week.I couldn't' live without the performance and noise. After the last 2( a v7 on the first one and intercooler leaks on the 2nd) I have...

Dealers, test Drives and general pushiness.

I went to 4 dealers today and couldn't get one solitary sales person interested. I wanted a c63 before April first and no one was bothered. Pushy? No! Complete opposite.

    Dealer ratings?

I think Dennis o is right. Sales always seem better to me as they are taking money. Service for me usually involves warranty work which I am always made to feel as though I am asking for something I am not entitled to. One dealer recently could not do enough for me in an emergency. Fantastic. MB...

WAXOYL - is it any good?

In the "olden days" in the 70s I used to just spray Duckhams oil onto the underside of my Escort (no environmental rules) and the car lasted a full 3 years. My best mate did his Lotus Cortina with waxoyl yearly and he still owns it. Admittedly it's like triggers brush but is a testament to waxoyl

    Dealer ratings?

Excellent idea. The 2 closest MB dealers to me are very different and are the same company. I went in for a small warranty job today and was made to feel as though I was scrounging something I wasn't entitled to. Waited 30 minutes to be seen and then told if I could not drop it off tomorrow and...
