    Buckled Rim - New Tyre?

Evening all I have a buckled NSF rim on my CLK (thanks to a huge pothole). There is no visible damage, but two different tyre fitters have confirmed what the vibrations when driving over 60mph and under, even light, braking are telling me. So, new wheel time. MB have quoted £450 ()...

    Britcar?

Hi Anyone following Britcar this season? I'm the team photographer and race data analyst for a team competing in the Britcar Production Cup Championship, called MGA Motorsport. Not Mercedes unfortunately, but 3 MX5 Mk3s (pic from last year's MX5 Cup): Next stop is Donington on 21...

    209 CLK Headlight Bulb Replacement

Does anyone have any instructions for replacing the headlight bulb on a 209 CLK? My near-side blew last night, so I removed the black sealing part but there doesn't appear to be any obvious way to remove the bulb. Do you have to remove the whole rear assembly? Thanks.

After nearly 12 years and 168k miles ...

... I've traded in my CLK :( I drove away from Newgate Motors (now Mercedes Chester) on 1 September 1999 in a brand new CLK320 Sport. Over the years I added 209 17" wheels and COMAND and treated it to regular coatings of Zymol. And what a fantastic car it's been. It's let me down only once...

Cruise disengaging at xxmph (or uphill)

Evening folks, my cruise control is playing up. Up to a certain speed, it's fine. Unless I'm going up a hill, when it will disengage. It won't engage above that speed, either by knocking it up incrementally, or by trying to directly engage. Probably a sensor, but where and how please?

F1 - Wired cover McLaren and Ferrari story

This month's Wired has an interesting feature on the McLaren and Ferrari shenanigans from last Summer. Probably best to ignore the 'Inconvenient Truth' b*ll$ck$ though :)

    Engine occasionally won't start

Have a problem with my car that appears to be occurring more regularly; it's still only happened about 6 times, but it certainly isn't getting better! It's only when the engine is hot and has run for over 30 minutes; for the last four times, this has been when I have stopped for fuel after...

    So it's not wheel balancing...

Had my CLK serviced at an MB dealer which included the replacement of the rear tyres. The fronts had been replaced a couple of weeks prior. I had complained of a vibration at anything above 40mph (getting progressively worse as the speed increased), so I asked for the fronts to be re-balanced...

    CLK320 CDi

Got one of these whilst mine is being repaired: It's the Sport, so has the AMG wheels and bodykit. What a great car, with a stonking engine; it just keeps pulling and pulling :D Trying to work out if I can afford to get one ... converted to the benefits of diesel now (especially with a 70...

    Interior Trim Repair

Transporting a long piece of metal in my car, I've accidentally pierced and scratched the near-side rear trim panel :( I have a leather interior, but this presumably is plastic? Is there an easy way to repair it? Would a hairdryer work (i.e. heating up, expanding)? Normally very careful, so...

    Replacing just one tyre

Hi guys, I had four new F1 GSD3's fitted last March at 77k. They all have plenty of tread left (at 90k), except for the near-side front, which has worn very badly on the outside edge: This is the off-side: Presumably, this is now illegal? I have an MOT this month, so need to get it...

    Anyone with an EPC?

Found this part in my garage, but not sure what it's off: A002 988 08 81. It's some sort of clip. Also, does the EPC have prices? The handle that releases the rear seat backrest broke yesterday, so will need to replace it. The part number is: 202 929 0158 L. Could do with a rough idea of what...
