yes for sure the left hand lug (as you look at it from the rear) doesn't seem to have any switch behind it but my ears tell me the right hand lug has a micro switch behind it to check if the cover is engaged or not? All this seems to be in order.....

I think its heavy. I get the impression there is an AMG factor in the charges, but I'm not sure its justified.
